    Bird Flu

Was the programme American by any chance?
  2. Followed Spark of Light (Ex Herbert Woods) on a low loader on the A149 leaving Wayford Bridge this afternoon. Turned onto the North Walsham road where I was able to pass. Could it be another woody leaving the Broads?
  3. I tend to rely on electricity to keep the cold out, hope we do not get too many power cuts this winter given recent predictions.
  4. A great write up and pictures, thanks for posting. My second break on the Broads back in the seventies, was on a Moorhen. 4 lads on 2 Moorhens out of Moores in Wroxham, we had a geat time! I have seen Moorhen at Upton recently, she looks a great boat and so pleased she is in good hands and in great condition. My wife and I now live in a Broads location and have our own boat but if I ever wanted to do a solo cruise, I would certainly think about Moorhen.
  5. Reducing the size of the fleet opens up other opportunites for the base at Stalham perhaps, subject to planning consent. With land based accommodation seemingly doing quite well, if I was a gambling man I would change to some static units for hire or for sale similar to another nearby yard.

    Paradise ?

Upstream of the railway bridge in Hoveton?
  7. Don't forget to allow for inflation! Some of us could be in for a shock next spring.
  8. Just been out Friday through to today, very quite on the rivers, could have moored in Horning lunch time today.
  9. I hope this is not too politcal but if the money local authorities are allowed to spend keeps being restricted, we only have ourselves to blame. It is very sad that the infrastructure of the country is falling into decline.
  10. With reference back to Marshmans post 3 hours ago, the particulates from tyres are a much greater problem than from petrol or diesel engines and guess what, because of the extra weight load of EV transport from batteries etc. the tyre particulate problem becomes even greater. Yes the public is being conned worldwide but there is loads of money to be made in the meantime, but not by the likes of you and me!
  11. Did you mean WAS a much better thing with small independant hire yards? Not many small yards left now.

    Roadworks 2022

A few weeks back roadworks on the A149 at Stalham were completed on a Friday but the traffic lights stayed in place until the following Monday. There is something badly wrong in the UK these days
  13. I used the pink stuff last year and was very pleased with the results. Good prices on Amazon

    Roadworks 2022

Delays unlikely.........whoever wrote that is not living in the real world!
  15. The good thing about onshore wind farms is that if you have enough of them, it is almost sure to be windy somewhere in the UK, and the ones in the windy places at the time can supply power. It is far too easy to come up with reasons not to rather than coming up with a positve solution, something our country has suffered from for decades!
  16. No diesel at Coltishall Island at the moment
  17. No diesel at Tesco Stalham at the moment.
  18. I wonder then why P&O ferries bothered to tell the UK government what they were going to do the day before the announcement was made, something has a bad smell about it.
  19. I did not think my post was optimistic, far from it! lol.
  20. I can't remember who was in the UAE from the UK in the middle of this week, anyone any ideas?
  21. If it is approved there will be fancy moorings, but not for the majority, just the so called elite. There might be a small number of moorings for the rest so that the planning approval can get through, but that will be about all.
  22. It is a real shame that the waterside area of Norwich has been wasted. What have we got, a Morrisons and an out of town shopping area situated in the heart of the city that should have been used for tourism and to attract people from all over Europe. A marina in the style of those seen in many parts of Europe, or dare I say it even Ipswich, with bars restaurants and entertainment, would have been a real asset for the city and the east of England, but the best we can offer is the shabby yacht station. Such a wasted opportunity.
  23. Perhaps P&O Ferries and our government thought that now was a good time to bury the story?
  24. Byelaw 73 appears to give protection through the reasonable excuse clause with regard to moving a vessel. eg. moving a boat to create a mooring space for another vessel seems a very reasonable excuse.

    My Day

Yes, Chantry Place now, I believe the owners of Chapelfield did not survive. As far as I can make out everyone still calls it Chapelfield, it will take time for the new name to catch on.
