  1. Wildfuzz only cares if it's a badger or similar exceeding the speed limit, now that I would like to see.
  2. My fazer 1000 is supposed to be good for 160 but I've only managed to get 158 so there must be something wrong with it (or me, that will be it), I have to admit my reactions are not up to that sort of speed, may have been once but not now. The worst thing I did was replace the fuel gauge with a multifunction display that does things like drag timing and compares gps speed with wheel speed, trouble is when you come to a halt the highest comes up in big digits so very tempting to push a bit harder for no reason other than a photo of the display.
  3. I would go to a tropical fish place and get the silicon they use for making tanks, I believe it will stick under water and shouldn't harm the fish, some other types will leach chemicals out for ages.
  4. The ore/alde is good fun up to snape maltings, Mmmmm now is it port or starboard that has the plastic milk bottle on the top of the twig???? Local rules can be far more confusing.
  5. British in a sort of japanese way........ I thought any bike was exempt from speed limits.
  6. Although very good at sea and on the lower reaches of tidal rivers it's fair to say the red/green system is pretty poor for further inland when theres been multiple splits in the channel since sea and a lot of crews don't know which way the sea is anyway. Even at sea it can be confusing going around the coast as the local direction of bouyage changes around big estuarys as well, the rules always work when going in and out of harbours though.
  7. This natural born predator of the wild is Winston (normally said in a racially ironic tone by most people), not my choice as he's a rescue mut and came with the name. He's as vicious as he looks...... We did have 3 rescue cats that originated from the middle east, I wanted to call them saddam, Abu, and Osama, saddam because she was playing with a piece of rope just as the other saddam had, abu because she had a bit missing (tail not hand), and osama because he was just a complete terrorist, they ended up as dinky (smallest), stumpy (obviously the one with no tail), and gobby (short for gobsh*te as he was bloody loud), all now keeled over from old age.
  8. That's not what the magistrate told me! Even gave me 6 points to prove it.
  9. I don't find the crotch strap uncomfortable, what I do find uncomfortable is the thoughtfully provided 'comfort pad' that is on it as it's much wider and usually gets put right up the back out of the way. The day I do NEED a crotch strap I don't care how uncomfortable it is I'll just be glad I have it.
  10. A pretty dumb-assed move to completely poopoo a choice of LJ based purely on the grounds that it's unlikely to happen, the whole idea of safety gear is for when the unlikely event DOES happen, if you thought you were going to fall in the water you would not get on the boat in the first place.(unless fairly stupid or planning on a swim) The very nature of falling gives a good chance of a whack on the head, especially going from cruiser to dinghy, you don't need to be knocked out to be disorientated especially in the brown waters of the southern broads. This is coming from someone that has a hammar auto inflation jobbie with crotchstrap and very rarely (ok never) wears it on the broads, I'm not that big on safety but do use it on the sea.
  11. I stand corrected... sphygmomanometer do do do do do sphygmomanometer do do do do sphygmomanometer do do do do do , do do do , do do do do do do do do do do. It's just that the muppets spelt it wrong.
  12. According to the song sorry seems to be hardest word, I always found sphygmomanometer to be more of a sh*t and much harder to fit into a song.
  13. Sink and a scourer, never fails..... What is a dishwasher?
  14. You don't have to have cold turkey on boxing day, just buy enough heroin to see you through the holiday period before Christmas.
  15. Every wooden saily boat should have at least one cardboard patch on the underside, bigger the better as it helps absorb water from the surrounding planks but I wouldn't worry too much about painting it with anything as it's where no-one will see it but if you are worried about the appearance from inside simply draw a smiley face on it to make you feel better when you see it.
  16. Check your system clock, I've had it before and it's been to do with security certificates not matching the system clock and appearing to be expired.
  17. Sod that, tape a piece of cardboard over it and emulsion the cardboard so it looks to be boxed in. I'll show you how to bodge......
  18. I was just taking the pee but couldn't find a tongue sticking out smiley so went for the tin hat option. P.S. Yes I know there's one in my signature but I didn't look very hard.
  19. Lighten up Vaughan, I found this thread most uplifting as it made me realise some people have much more empty lives than me.....
  20. Not the same setup as mine were then Mike, my filter canisters were definately on the front engine mount via pipes, I think the name cast into the mounts was ct marine. One of my old engines was bought by a landrover man who didn't want the marinising bits but I sold them later on ebay otherwise you could have had them, goes to show a take off plate is available for remote filter though. If the filter transfer fitting is a flat plate where it joins the crankcase it would be easy to make a take off plate, I also work with a guy who does a bit of aluminium casting if the boat is laid up for winter, I'm sure I have some oil hose and bsp fittings languishing in my shed too (1/2" bsp I think they were) as did homemade sandwich plate for my peugeots, as I type this I've just spotted the oil filter end in the bottom of my toolbox if you want it, it takes standard pug xud9 filter (m20 x 1.5), I ended up fitting a pair of oil coolers from hdi110 motors as they were going free, I bet I have the oil coolers kicking around somewhere too.
  21. I'm sure the oil filters on my 2.52 bmc's were part of one of the front engine mounts and piped to the block, in which case the take offs are already in the block just get appropriate length pipes and a filter adapter of your choice and mount where it's easy/clean to get at and change, they are most likely regular bsp threads.
  22. I've been told ladies don't fart, is that because they don't keep their mouths shut long enough to build up the pressure?
  23. Go with giffgaff, 5p texts and free giffgaff to giffgaff calls, it's the o2 network and my phone is set to 2g most of the time and works fine around norfolk.
  24. She said she wanted something that can go from 0 to 120 really quickly, so I switched the scales to KG.....
