  1. As everyone else is posting bike piccies I may as well add one of mine complete with doggie pic. This one can do a tad over 70mph on a good day yer honor. (only a tad you understand)
  2. Can you get one that fits a box of wine? A single bottle seems a bit of a design flaw.....
  3. On a plus not I got rid of 6 long expired flares last night, 3 parachute 2 smoke and a handheld with expiry dates 2000-2004, all operated fine with no problems which is good to know as all my flares are out of date on the boat too (but not that far out of date). I am 100 miles from the coast BTW so no CG helicopters came buzzing over, it made for a good training session but maybe should have done it before going to the pub......
  4. Is that realy good for rubber exhaust hose Mark? I would worry about the inner wall collapsing in on itself with the heat, may not be noticable from the outside till water backs up to the engine.
  5. Our 4 legged idiot has been seen at a number of the ferryhouse firework displays, usually under the tables hunting out bits of dropped burger completely oblivious to all the whoosh's and bangs going on, and I know he's not deaf as he can hear a packet of pork scratchings rustle a mile away, he just doesn't seem to care. I do pity the animals that spend the best part of 2 weeks in fear though.
  6. Rather than a song I would like a ventriloquist act at my send off... " open the box! Let me out!" Has got to get a reaction going.
  7. Not kypol I hope, has it fallen off yet? We used to get a lot of plating done there at work and it was pretty crap.
  8. They already have a different time zone north of the border, I think it's the 17th century....
  9. Stick up millions of 'motorboats only' and 'stricly no sailing allowed' signs all over the broads.
  10. I believe the waving your arms around thing is called 'testiculating' it's like gesticulating but with talking bo**cks at the same time.
  11. That's the one, Richard the third to be precise.
  12. You'd better ask the mods or naughty work sensor, I used the word t u r d.
  13. The ferryhouse at surlingham usually have a fireworks do, they normally have a kids display around 6.30pm and an adults display nearer 9.00pm, I'm hoping to be there as long as the boat is back in the water.
  14. Nickel plating looks very pretty. Remember you will need to polish out the pits first or be prepared to pay for someones time to do it for you to get a good result, if you re-chrome a fesces you get a shiny fesces back but it will still be a fesces.
  15. The flying scotsman stopped just a few hundred yards from my house earlier this year on it's first run since refurb, it wasn't meant to stop but there were d*ckheads standing on the line trying to take piccies so it had no option as blood makes such a stain on fresh paintwork and is very corrosive on shiny metal bits, messed lots of other train times up as well. Like the map o' t' world!
  16. My boat is very green indeed, not washed it in ages.......(if anyone gets bored feel free to do it) With a boat called snowbird there's a reason why my reserved mooring board at surlingham usually says smokebird or smogbird.
  17. I saw one like that at the ferryhouse a while back and liked it very much, looks like a lot of fun. I always did like trailies and things, still got an XT600 in the garage but not been used in a couple of years, barely ride me fazer 1000 these days as too busy boating and boozing.
  18. My existing ones have completely disappeared but looked good a year ago, I don't know what material they were as they were on when I bought the boat, the 90kg of stainless keel bonded in probably didn't help and there may be an issue with shore power earth but I do have a galvanic isolator in the earth line but the jury seems to be out on wether they actually do any good.
  19. Thanks guys, a bit of googling was sending me down that route, it seems cheap ali anodes are best avoided and make sure to get good ones, the performancemetals ones look worth a go. I've now got 90Kg less stainless steel in the equation as I've cut the jersey keel off the bottom, that should help anode life as well as speed/mpg.
  20. It's anode time and I'm wondering what the consensus is on which material to go for on a boat that lives at thorpe on the yare but goes out to sea regularly, anodes are on the bottom of the hull so changing for different water types isn't an option, it's a shaft drive boat so no option of lifting outdrives and swapping over. I know it's zinc for sea, magnesium for fresh, aluminium for brackish, but all get passivated and stop working in the wrong water so what do others do?
  21. Fit a sea toilet and tell her it's a pump out jobbie and that you get it emptied while she's not there to spare her the smell, that way you get in the good books and get to spend the pump out fee in the pub. But don't moor on still water as she'll spot the evidence as it floats by.
  22. Such a shame to see, a stolen car in the river and the occupants not still in there.
