  1. The level was set at six as Norfolk born and breds can count everyone on one hand.
  2. The new regulations apply to all settings both at home and away. Some exclusions apply with social bubble groups.
  3. Having watched a programme on the production of copper for wires, it is massively destructive to the earth and consumes huge quantities of power. How much copper wire will be needed in EV, batteries and supply cables. Not very green compared to diesel and petrol units.
  4. Not as weird as foot tapping
  5. Another possibility is the virus has mutated to become more infectious but less lethal. This will only be confirmed by the number of hospitalizations. Covid 19 is a new variant of a fairly common virus but we still know very little about it.
  6. You have never met my Mother-in-law, Boom boom
  7. Funny old day, booked in for a 10 minute procedure to remove a growth on my middle finger today. The dermatologist went off sick and was replaced by another chap. He looked at the growth and said, good news and bad news, you need a specialist plastics hand surgeon, it is beyond a dermatologist. The good news is i am a plastics hand surgeon helping out dermatology for the day. 1 1/2 hours of surgery and 20 stitches later the job was done. The finger was sliced up and is now immobilized against my shoulder for 4 days and useless for 3 to 4 weeks. Supposed to be heading to Norfolk tomorrow for two weeks, that has been delayed for a couple of days. If I wave to you on the river, please excuse my extended middle finger
  8. I use Marine power at Brundall Gardens. As to prices, always more than you think.
  9. Ouch, life jacket and a hard hat next you go under a bridge.
  10. If you have the crystals, some plastic and gaffer tape you could form a 'tent' over the wet area and seal the crystals inside, this will speed up the drying process to the localised area.
  11. No it was open as we started off with flow, It was while opening up the engine area i discovered the waste of heat. The impeller was changed in December last year but with lockdown has not been used until just recently.
  12. Any thoughts please. The calorifier is linked to the engine by flow and return pipes. The calorifier has an immersion heater fitted. The engine is never used to heat water as it is plugged in to shore power for most of our stay and the immersion is used. On our last visit we did have a run out for a pump out and the engine overheated very quickly, I suspect the impeller has failed as we had a loss of water out put from the rear. The next day I noticed the engine was quite hot and assume it is transferring from the calorifier. Should I, Leave it as it is as it isn't a problem, apart from wasted heat under the berth. Reconnect the flow and return pipes to the engine to reinstate the loop. Leave the existing set up but fit isolator valves in the flow and return to isolate the calorifier when the engine is not required to heat the water. We will be onboard for at least two weeks a month from now on but still mostly on shore power. Thanks.
  13. They can't include the lyrics as there will not be a live audience, yeah right. I have a plan, project a recording on a big screen of the clip Peter has provided. Usual BBC, they have become so scared and PC I am suprised they haven't scapped the whole Proms. A sad and pathetic organisation that is a shadow of its original self.
  14. Unless the original price is quoted as inclusive of Vat. If they add the rider , at the current rate, then they must reduce the final cost. If they omit the rider, Vat is just part of the costs the same as other overheads, they are collecting the correct level of Vat and paying it to HMRC. A thousand pound holiday is still the same value to the customer. The drawback of omitting the rider is if the rate of Vat rises the business would have to to make up the difference. As one of my businessess is involved in the construction sector we show all quotations and invoices net, plus Vat as rates can vary from zero to 5⅝ or the full rate.
  15. If the holiday was £1000 pounds and it was considered good value at the time of booking, is it not still good value ? The fact the supplier can claim the Vat reduction to put towards loses incurred since March may well make the difference between being in business next year or going bust. How many people will complain next year if fewer holidays are available and because of reduced capacity, prices rise. I have businessess and I can confirm that many businessess have been very badly affected by Covid, it isn't fun and many won't be around next year, every bit of support to companies is desperately needed.
  16. The reduction doesn't apply to boating holidays.
  17. Its called thread drift, posts tend not to stay exclusive to the original topic if someone has a similar question.
  18. There are lies, damn lies, and then there is Wikipedia.
  19. Lexus everytime, never new though. First Lx400 cost 10,000, 40k milage, kept it for 18 years and sold it for 3,000. RX300, cost 9,000, had 40k milage, sold it 6 years later for 3.5k. Only cost was an LPG conversion. (18mpg in town.) Present one is a LS430. 2006.70k milage. It cost me 6,000 two years ago. All were and are immaculate, no rust and never had anything replaced. Next car will be a Lexus.
  20. PHE probably needs to be split between predicting and planning and logistics for delivery. The logistics could well suit an ex military type on secondment, they did a spectacular job with delivering ppe and testing centres, when finally asked.
  21. Time to research is as important as finance. Every day they are learning more about how it transmits and mutates. It seems the virus in Europe and America is more infectious but less leathal, the next mutation could do what the "Spanish" flu did and become harmless and die out naturally or go the other way. Scientists will unfortunately be at least one step behind the virus.
  22. Are we going to rehash this same argument again nearly four months after the last post.
