Looks lovely, far more relaxing than spending the day digging out a rampant honeysuckle that had taken over our middle bed! Still, this time next week we will be on board Moonlight Shadow - hopefully the weather will be as good. SueH

Horrific. This is a show we have gone to a number of times in the past. What went wrong? Will they continue with the second day of the show tomorrow? As a mark of respect to those innocent people who were killed - hopefully not. An interesting thought: I heard about this tragedy, sitting at home South of the M4, by looking at a forum about Norfolk, reading an item from a member in Riyadh talking about an accident in Shoreham.

Syndicate boating certainly works for us. We know exactly where everything is and how she handles. At the moment we get eight weeks a year for the cost of three weeks hiring the likes of the Broom under discussion. Obviously the cost of the shares has to be 'forgotten' but as the interest on any savings is so dire at the moment, we have decided to enjoy it while we are fit and able enough to do so. SueH

untilFirst partners out after annual maintenance.

Hi Alan Yes that is what we thought, but the BA man said that although all the facilities are closed (bins, water etc) the points - so far as he is aware are not switched off. SueH

Just seen Melody 4 at Norwich Yacht Station. Certainly looks like a panoramic view out of thelarge glass doors at the back. The BA guy said that yesterday was the busiest day of the season so far. There were quite a few boats there when we left and we passed a number going in as well. We didn't make use of the new power points, but will certainly use them during one of our out of seasons trips. SueH

Lovely boats. Pity they don't allow dogs! SueH

We have always phoned and booked. Mind you we are greedy wanting to be on the main river next to the power! Never a problem though. SueH

Most beautiful aircraft ever built (Imho). Have seen her twice this year, once at Cosford and more recently at Yeovilton. The last time we will be going to these airshows me thinks! Have you seen the film of her coming in the approach at RIAT this year, ,very low over some cars before deploying her tail chute. Must have been quite something for the gongoozlers who were there rather than pay for their entrance fees! One good thing though. At least she will be kept undercover when she retires, not like the Concorde at Bristol that has just been left deteriorating outside waiting for decisions about her future. SueH

Oh Alan You mean that Breeze hasn't got an electric mudweight yet? This is one thing on MS that is an absolute bonus - I never managed to 'woman-handle' the manual ones out of the oggin! It always had to be left to Him in Charge. SueH

England Are for now Doing Pretty Good Huh? Oh Dear!
SueH replied to Hylander's topic in The Broadscot Lounge
Breaking news! England won by 169 runs. 1 - 0 to the English! SueH -
So how many of you watched Topgear last night on BBC2
SueH replied to ranworthbreeze's topic in The Broadscot Lounge
Watching it, although the features were good it all seemed to be very sad. At the end when they both said goodbye - an end of an era. Will the new one on the beeb be the same - obviously not. As good or better, remains to be seen. SueH -
I think the waving is rather nice. I have taken to saying good morning to everyone I see while taking Rosie out for her constitutional. Get some awfully funny looks sometimes. Some people ignore us and some want to stop and chat. SueH

I am a little bit concerned as to whether other software will be compatible. I am still using MS Access 2003, which appears to work ok on Win7, and don't want to have to shell out for a new full version of the suite. SueH Win 3.1 and DOS 6.22 those were the days - remember the old Amstrad 1512 and 1640?

Most beautiful aeroplane in the world bar none! I remember being at Upavon on shift when the last one went overhead just before they went out of service. Needless to say, not much work was done that afternoon as we all did an escape out of the 'dungeon' to watch her. Won't be up there for this, but have donated for the Norwich trip anyway as the Broads are nearly our second home! SueH

We picked ours up at Oulton Broad Yacht Station last time we were up there (early May). They had a stack of them. SueH

Absolutely. Perhaps some of the companies that are members of this forum will spark? SueH

Hi Alex. I was on Moonlight Shadow in Rockland when you were lurking in the corner. SueH

Hi - sorry I did not realise who you were, we came into Rockland when you were tucked into the corner. It looked like an excellent spot to lurk. sueH

The A47 will be closed for the weekend after 8.00pm tomorrow

We came back westbound from MS this morning. The detour was no problem at all and we were not slowed down. Rumour is that this is the last closure for this particular Postwick work so you should be OK Neil. SueH PS - Lightning was in all week, it did not appear that anyone was taking advantage of the BH week. -
A lot calmer this morning and a quiet night last night. Good for Rosie's nerves as she doesn't like the boat moving round so much. Back at at the mooring and the river is like a millpond really lovely. Packing up today ready to wind our way back to south of the M4 via the Postwick road closure! SueH

Has anyone seen the floatila of Bavarian yachts over the bank holiday?

Hi - 12:50 7 May 2015. Just coming up the New Cut towards Reedham. Saw 21 large yachts heading from Reedham to Breydon. As seen from the New Cut looked like a mobile forest. Don't know if it was them, but don't often see quite such a large number of yachts following each other under power. You definately wouldn't want to see that lot coming the other way under sail! Have been using a 3 mobile Huawei all week and am very impressed, in the South have been able to get onto the Internet every time I've tried, even in the middle of nowhere. SueH -
Tut Tut Iain! We are still lurking in Beccles. Have been a number of interesting gusts that, again, nearly blew me over. Southern Crusader came along and moored in front of us earlier today. Their first trip out in her and first visit to Beccles. They needed the help of us and the harbour master to get her sorted. Apparently the harbour master was expecting two others to arrive for mooring on the river. Needless to say they haven't arrived!

Hi all. Set off from Oulton Broad this morning having had a couple of nights there to watch the power boat racing on BH Monday. Very exciting it was too. Mind you, even more exciting now, BA are patrolling the Oulton Dyke to make sure the yachts etc are safe. 32mph winds have been measured and some very interesting waves. The NBN burgee was working exceptionally hard! Booked into Beccles for two nights today and tomorrow (Tuesday/Wednesday) on the river. Fortunately being blown on. A number of gusts of wind nearly knocked me over while we were mooring up - good job was wearing the life jacket. Fortunately it was not needed. Apparently it is going to get worse before it gets better. At least we got here in one piece. Hopefully Iain is having a slightly better time of it up North. Beccles is fairly quiet at the moment, but there may be more people coming along later to have a safe bolt hole. SueH
