  1. It's me again. Just gave a home to a little Richardson's boat who got caught out and it's nearly dark! He double moored with us very gently. S
  2. We are at Stokesby. Staithe full as are the farm Moorings the other side of the pub. Some people even double moored. Haven't seen it this busy for a long time! Such a difference to last night in near solitary splendour at Berney. One of Richardson's older boats has been running it's engine on and off all afternoon, directly behind us. Lovely headache now. The private boat in front has just started as well. Off to Potter tomorrow.
  3. Absolutely. Moored at the Berney at the moment almost no traffic and just us, another cruiser and the Ba boat.along the whole mooring. Magical. S
  4. We're on Shadow at the mooring at the moment. Just had a meal at the Yare and got back for the last half hour of Strictly. Staying here tomorrow to do some odd jobs, then up North. Booked in at Woods End on 14th, our 35th anniversary, so will have to be back down by then. SueH
  5. If we lived closer then full ownership would be great. But living 6 hours away syndicating is best for us. PS - PM sent.
  6. The same thing happens with us, our trip next month means that we will have had 8 weeks on 'Shadow' this calendar year. No need to rush from A to B anymore, just a gentle tootle along to our favourite areas. The only proviso is that, because of Rosie, we don't 'wild' moor. SueH
  7. We definately take the biscuit! Good job our main vehicle is a Renault Traffic van. Da da - the boating wardrobe, everything is to go to Shadow. Complete with ticklist. Excuse pretty pink not like this really! SueH
  8. HWMBO watched it, but won't again. Unfortunately despite being a 'ginger' myself just cannot warm to C. E. So I found something better to do, from all accounts didn't miss much. S
  9. That does seem odd. Silverline had a lot of boats out last week and I'm sure they came from Brundall. S
  10. Oulton Broad. Those pesky squirrels fair wore me out. I didn't quite get close enough before they disappeared up the tree.
  11. Boating is so stressful! Mistress says 'its a hard life being a corgi.' I don't know how I manage. Rosie
  12. Tother end! Beccles side on, on the river. Lovely. Quite calm at the moment. S
  13. Very much so. I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't seen the programme. Suffice it to say it's even more of a tear jerker than usual. S

    Excitement

The first thing I do on our return is go through the bags against our checklist. Apart from Dhobi most are straight back in the boat cupboard ready at a moments notice in case a spare week comes up. Have a good trip with no dramas. S
  15. A lot of people there yesterday looking through telescopes alongside the 'tent'. The birds were quite vocal.
  16. Sorry this phone likes to do its own thing! We are at Whitlingham just outside Norwich. It just tried again to change what I said. Very frustrating. Moorings on main River Yare and walked through. A doggy paradise. S
  17. Bit overcast sat outside the Cafe at Whittingham. Mooring very quiet for a Sunday. First full day of a fortnight on Mshadow S
  18. Cloth-Ears sold, all being well buyer will be collecting later today. SueH
  19. As we say in our household 'if all else fails!' Martin used to write instruction manuals. SueH

    Up North

Interesting to hear. We are going back on the Saturday of the BH weekend so hopefully will be going against the flow of the traffic finally get to the M25.
  21. Martin is also far better in the kitchen than me. His Mother taught him well. He also manages to use the sewing machine without 'sewing' his finger! At least he can't knit......... S
  22. Thank goodness it was found safe and well. We would be devastated if such a thing had happened to Rosie - mind you with her little legs she wouldn't get far........

    Spring?

My Family always used to quote this to me when I complained about being chilly in March and April. Perhaps there is something in it after all. Ne'er cast a clout till May be out It has certainly been a day of changes. From inside it looks really nice at the moment. Won't be venturing out though as it has quite a strong wind factor! We have got some lovely blossom on the family pear and plum. Hope the cold nights don't cause a problem, all being well it will be the first year of the plum which is an eater with good reviews. We don't get too many pears as Rosie does a good of scrumping them, we often see her eyeing up the lower fruits and she brings in the windfalls. Generally all that is left is the stem.
  24. We found a mummified frog alongside the pond when we came back yesterday. It would be interesting to know how he/she got that way. Have only seen two in the pond so far this year. Hope this wasn't one of them. SueH
