  1. Me too. Have got all the episodes on a D.V.D. box-set!
  2. Our shares in Moonlight Shadow, based in Brundall near Norwich are now on the market. We own two 4 week shares (a total of 16% ownership). Each share is entitled to one week per season - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Asking price is: £3750 per share or £7000 if sold as the pair. Once purchased each owner pays a proportion of the annual running costs, as per the attached PDF. Most people pay monthly, we are invoices 6 monthly with the next instalment due on or about 31 January 2018. Moonlight Shadow is a 6 berth in 3 cabins cruiser (one of which is a bunk room). She has two shower rooms (shower, toilet and washbasin), one of which is ensuite. The roof retracts which allows access through most of the bridges, although we haven't tried Potter Heigham! We have managed Beccles low bridge with the roof down at low tide. For more info, please contact me via PM. Thank you. SueH Moonlight Shadow Budget.pdf
  3. That's the beauty of 'ownership', in our case in a syndicate. You get to know the boat, how she feels, throttle tolerances, foibles etc. Unfortunately our time is coming to an end with the shares on the market. Thoroughly recommended though. Sue
  4. What difference a day makes. Had to loosen off the ropes this morning. S
  5. Yep! The Sanderson boat crew has now returned and have been moved to the safety features the pontoon. This picture is taken from the bow of M.S. facing towards the bypass bridge. The little boat with the blue canopy (by the seat) you can see is moored stern on on the new moorings!
  6. And it's a good one. Over the quay heading both inside the yacht Station and on the river. It is still coming in! Sandstar a hire from Reedham is over the quay heading and the yacht master is frantically trying to keep it away. No sign of the crew. We told him he needed his wellies! Where we are is ok at the moment as it is towards the back of the river mooring and about a foot higher than the rest. Although we are keeping a wary eye on things, soon we'll be on our own personal island. We have seen it high here on occasions, but not like this. It should have told us something when we saw the flood barriers in place when we took Rosie out first thing. Sue P.S. The harbour master has just taken a phone call to say the flood alert is over - as he's still trying to stop Sandstar from 'grounding'!!
  7. Absolutely. Am on the pontoon at Oulton at the moment. Bobbing round like a 'cork', En-route to Beccles later, hopefully a bit more sheltered there. A very unsettled Rosie, she likes being on board but that was a bit extreme! Sue
  8. Perhaps a local vet can scan it and if, as we have with Rosie, there is a record of the owners mobile phone the animal can be reunited with his family quickly.
  9. I agree she seems very genuine and fair. I am down to one of three for the first one out. Brian, Ruth or the Rev Richard. What do you think? Ruth may be OK for a while tho cos a lot of people live Anton!
  10. From now on a Strictly fix every day until Christmas. I even watch 'It Takes Two'. Sad or what! S
  11. Our oil boiler was put in when the house was built in the late 70's and it is still going strong. Ably serviced every year by an excellent local engineer, and long may it continue.
  12. We also have lots of layers. The middle one of which is a spare heated blanket that has been dedicated to the boat. Obviously that does mean we are dependent on mains power. It does not like the inverter. SueH
  13. Yeah - don't forget. It was great when mine came through. I had totally forgotten about the lump sum. Left the Raf 30 years ago. Had to wait till 60 to get the pension.

    Autumn Trip
  15. Have no idea where I was when she died. But going off topic slightly - I do remember where we were on 9/11. We were on Ranworth Breeze. Our first trip, Glenn was putting us through our paces when his wife phoned to say she had just heard on the radio. An interesting beginning into our first sirjoin into syndicate ownership. Another time we were up there hiring during a fuel strike. We managed to fuel up on arrival. A number of fellow hirers were having a panic though as they did not have enough in the tank to get home! S
  16. On the way to an aquafit session at my local pool today. A bus came towards me with 'merry christmas' on the front where the route number normally is. As I tell Rosie when she comes scrounging 'Far twirly'. SueH
  17. Here, here. Many's the time I've boiled the kettle for washing up etc. Years ago, in our first caravan, the only way to have a shower was boil the kettle mix it with cold in a bowl and use a small mobile shower pump. To quote an old relative of mine. "They don't know they are born nowadays"!
  18. 30th Sep for us. I've got lots more painting to do though. Sixteen spikes and 20 2.4 meter decking boards. We're replacing the raised beds using decking boards rather than railway sleepers. SueH
  19. I flew in the Duxford Rapide a few years back. Well worth the trip. They did get all the passengers to get on the scales before boarding though! Another highlight was a trip to Coventry with the Vulcan to The Sky Club just before XH558 stopped flying. I fulfilled a long held dream to fly In a Devon. One used to fly into Upavon when I was stationed there in the 80's. It was the 'scrambled egg brigades' personal taxi!
  20. Morning. Moonlight Shadow. Arrived yesterday, last 9 miles in an 'orrible' cu-nim. Had to pull into a lay-by at one stage as couldn't see where I was going! Sue
  21. Just had confirmation, looking forward to meeting you all. Sue, Martin and Rosie (the very patient Corgi)
