Mrs Hylander you are obsessed with our stockings and suspenders aren't you. I'm flattered, really I am I prefer the lady to put up the stockings and then allow me to be taking them down later. Will you be showing off your stockings at all this Christmas Mrs Hylander

At my age I think I would scare the horses, so sorry to disappoint ,yes stockings but only Christmas ones for my little grandchildren. I get such pleasure from filling these and seeing their faces. It doesn't matter who tries to spoil Christmas with its commercialism (big word for a Wed afternoon but there you go) you cannot take away the pleasure of Christmas and kiddies , of which when it comes to Christmas I am also a big kid.

There's nothing wrong with a fine older lady Mrs Hylander. Couldn't agree with you more about kids and Christmas. It seems today every goes out of their way to jump on the commercialism bandwagon, but for me it's still the best time of year seeing kids enjoying themselves and people making an effort to get their homes decorated up and enjoy themselves. Unfortunately, you may have noticed I'm a great big kid all year round, so Christmas is no exception for me

Well excuse me Sir, but I think you will find it was Mrs H throwing her stockings around again to begin with, not I And why am I in trouble with Robin, if you could control your woman, like I do mine sir, there would have been far less graphic comments made on the other thread
eddybear
Yes Christmas and kids, very important that we teach them the meaning of Christmas and don't over commercialise it, I can remember when I was a child (yes honestly I can) that the Christmas tree and decorations were put up Christmas Eve and not before, Christmas Eve we were allowed to stay up a bit later to see the carol singers which used to arrive on a Tractor and trailer which visited all of the neighbouring farms in the village, And when we awoke Christmas morning we would feel a weight on our feet those being our stockings which were full of presents O what memories, then after we had played with all the things we got came Christmas dinner what a feast, but we weren't allowed to sit round the tree and open our presents until we had listened to the Queen's speech, And then as children we would tear in to the presence quite literally, but mother being of the make and mend era would tell us not to tear the paper But she would carefully fold it and keep it for next year, but it doesn't matter what we do or have done or anybody else does at Christmas it is traditional and whatever you did that is your tradition sermon over.

MauriceMynah
Yes definitely Halloween. That looks like a Rover 2000 and a Ford Corsair in the garden. Those people really are out to scare us.
