grendel
when I say a dip, the general mean sea level has been rising, but in the 70's 80's there was a reverse and the average sea level was low for a decade or so, Actually looking back at the graph it looks to have been the 60's 70's, but from 65-75 ish the levels were dropping quite against the trend of the graph, so although sea levels were rising over the century they reversed for a time by nearly 4", for us older folk this would equate to the memories we had in our youth of tons of clearance at the bridge, since then of course the sea level for the line on the graph has risen perhaps another 2" , but in real terms since those days sea level has risen maybe 5" thus giving us a false impression that sea level has risen far faster. if you look at the graph sea levels also dipped in the mid 1980's followed by a more than average rapid rise through to 2005. while we know seal level is just one factor in the equation, its an indicator that boats that needed a certain clearance may now have up to 5" less clearance on average, and with the various boats 5" is a lot for boats that were designed to just go through in the 1970's to 1990's

Not personally but I'll take your word for it G but I can imagine anything is easier than keeping this lot on track However on the plus side I hope Paul will be pleased to see his boat sale consistently near the top of the ratings

Paul
Anyone know of any boats for sale, family sized, say 42 foot ideally with twin helms? Been looking but cannot find any.
Turnoar
I can recall an incident once where one of the controls wasn’t fully disengaged after a trial run and some how the novice helm had retreated to the other station down below which didn’t do as expected resulting in a slight mishap. No harm done and everyone saw the funny side. Almost needed two trial runs to be sure!
unclemike
when we hired it ,we found it suited our needs perfectly, was easy to handle and economical, 4 adults 2 kids, would have hired it again in the same situation, but went down to 2 adults , now have our own the engine at the time was a 1.6 escort diesel as were many of alphas hire craft,

NorfolkNog
Well I've said it before, every cloud has a silver lining What would have been a simple one post thread would have sunk without trace by now instead of consistently topping the ratings So come on, roll up, roll up, a lot more boat for less money than Swan Royale 1
