  1. Hi Paul, I have tested it again and you are correct it takes between 1 and 2 minutes to change location, in the old format it would have lost control from the queue, it said unlimited control. Regards Alan
  2. I have just been on the Oulton Broad Webcam it is still not controllable,I logged into the site and it told me I was in control of the camera, clicking on the drop down list produced nothing at all, at least it is showing the broad, some sailing and the marina. Regards Alan
  3. Hi Mark, We do prefer the refined approach after seeing one of Griffs crew Regards Alan
  4. Here is a link, I would agree a Cinnabar moth. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=pink+moths+uk&rlz=1C1AOHY_enGB708GB708&tbm=isch&imgil=4lmMj5nrszBFDM%3A%3BTQitSG8C48ptiM%3Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.pinterest.com%252Fpin%252F424534702346162757%252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=4lmMj5nrszBFDM%3A%2CTQitSG8C48ptiM%2C_&usg=__jL8BuxeL1pdw5xJ-wtbNKFx_0xk%3D&biw=1024&bih=673&ved=0ahUKEwjY8au3jJrUAhUJIVAKHbENCHoQyjcIMQ&ei=OLIuWdj1D4nCwAKxm6DQBw#imgrc=lkqt54xQSH7-gM: Regards Alan
  5. Hello Steve & Ang welcome to the the forum. As seasoned boaters please let us have an insight of your trips on the Broads. Regards Alan
  6. The covers and markers are a good idea. Sadly the chain saw thieves attacked an old boys pride and joy a couple of years ago and his boat sunk. Regards Alan

  8. Regarding seals on toilets I was having a word with a engineer last week when we were on the canals, towards the later part of the week we were getting a smell from the toilets (these were electric with macerators) when flushing. It turns out they were using the green option of fluid rather than the blue loo, it would appear that using blue loo damages the seals, sadly the green option fluid does not cut the mustard. Regarding any toilet cleaner, these should not be used in case of a reaction in the toilet tank, worse case scenario is a gas produced. There was the usual notice on the toilets nothing to be put down the toilet unless eaten, they also mentioned bottle caps and razor blades, I ask you! Regards Alan
  9. Hi Stuart, More than likely it is back filling, the choker valve is usually the culprit, The pump assembly virtually the same as Jabasco, it might be better to fit a complete Jabasco pump assembly (they include a new choker valve) the new ones are complete with a lock down handle. http://www.brianwards.co.uk/toilets/pumps-spares/jabsco-toilet-service-kit-2008-onwards.html http://www.brianwards.co.uk/toilets/pumps-spares/jabsco-twist-n-lock-toilet-pump-ass-y.html We tend to service both of our toilets each year before the season start. During the season if the pump becomes tight we undo the top and put a tea spoon full of oil (sunflower or vegetable) down the piston wall. Regards Alan
  10. Here is a link to Broadland Breeze on the Richardson's website. http://www.richardsonsboatingholidays.co.uk/boats/broadland-breeze/ Regards Alan
  11. We do that as well, that way the other crew have no issues when leaving the mooring, we did that quite a few times last week on the canals.
  12. We do not run our engine at a mooring, as soon as the ropes are secure Tan turns it off, the battery box fan and the instrument switches. Power hook up if required and settle down before preparing a meal or going to the pub. If we have to be away early for a tide we only start the engine before slipping our ropes, two minutes at most and we have gone keeping our revs low to avoid wash and noise.. Sadly if cold we use the heater or if on shore power we use the electric fires. Most people who come to the Broads are on holiday or come to relax, why on earth should abuse come to the forefront. Off to relax on Saturday on the canals our group of aged crew, 6 of us are doing the Four Counties Ring so it should be tranquil for me on the tiller whilst the crew gets all the locks ready. Regards Alan
  13. Hi Simon, As in all life you can always find a cheaper price, but buying locally from a company such as Brian Ward's that does offer our forum members a discount does have its advantages. Tanya & Nick (you will see them at the counter) have a wealth of knowledge, they will allow you to take items to try to sort out your issues once you are known to them. When we changed our lighting to LED inserts I was unsure what wattage to use, Tanya allowed me to take a couple of each to try out before we committed to changing all of down lighters lamps. You can use the discount online, the discount code is NBN. Regards Alan
  14. Hi Helen, As requested I have edited your post. Regards Alan
  15. Hi Helen, Your scoring puts a different slant on your table. Regards Alan
  16. The Oulton Broad webcam is online but not controllable, you have to logon to the site and wait your turn, you can opt for a different view or location and it puts a tick on that choice, but it just keeps the same view. Regards Alan
  17. Hi Jean, It sounds like a call to the boatyard for a call out. Basically the motor will pay out the chain and reverse the motor when the other switch is pressed to lift the chain. If the chain is not moving at all then chain will be jammed or there is a gearbox issue. Regards Alan
  18. Hi Helen, We love to hear of peoples visits to the Broads. Be careful however of who's pants you bore off Regards Alan
  19. Hi John, That sounds like a dump through toilet (the holding tank is pumped out as normal) they have a sliding rubber seal, they were used on some of the early narrow boats we hired. There is one for sale on Ebay but they want £100 for it. Regards Alan
  20. Hi Ian, Not sure where you are other than being on Maffett's Swallow. I always hear good things about Swallow. Regards Alan

  22. Nice one Jon, I wondered if you might post that picture, sadly I do not have one of the boats at Wroxham Regards Alan
  23. That makes it cheaper at the Hotel then. We always used to love mooring there and one year the AGM's of both Southern Crusader & Ranworth Breeze were held the same weekend, both boats were moored outside of the Hotel and made a great sight. Nothing better than a good mooring whilst being overlooked by critical gongoozler's, Regards Alan
  24. I think you will find that most of the mould removers just contain bleach. Just be careful how and where you use it. Regards Alan
  25. Bowness and all the Lake District towns are still buzzing but many of the visitors do not spend as much as the speedboat/skiing crews spent, they recon that these people 2% of all visitors spent over 20% of the tourist spend, a packed lunch and a bottled drink can not make up for that loss. Regards Alan
