  3. A girl at work had the MG version of the Rover 75, the nearside headlight bulb had gone. To remove it there are access panels in the wheel arches, but this invoves removing the front wheel. So cr jacked up wheel remove, likewise access panel, I manages to remove the bulb. The issue was trying to get the new bulb back in, after well over an hour I looked up on the internet people having the same issue. The advice given was drop off the front valance/bumper completely, now you had access to the bolts that held the headlamp cluster in place, it was then a easy job to replace bulb, another half hour to put everything back. To change the bulb took over 3 hours to replace. The joys of motoring jet again. Regards Alan
  4. I also insure with Admiral and used their Multi car option when we had two cars and like others have been with them for a few years. I am in the process of changing my car from a Saab 93 Convertible to a Audi A3 Convertible, which is a good 10 years younger, so have had been in touch with the insurance company. Regards Alan
  5. Hello oldgregg, It was a woman that showed us around and she spent a while showing our two teenagers at the time how she made the candles, from the dipping the wick into the various shades of wax. I am sure we will have bought an odd candle at the time. The shop if I remember correctly was at the front or the side of their house. I know there were no mooring signs outside of their property. Regards Alan
  6. The candle shop was still open in the early 2000's so no sure when it closed down, this was another seasonal enterprise that only opened a few days a week. Regards Alan
  7. Hi Grendel, Also been there done it a few times, usually need mirrors and hex drive wrenches and the capability of being able to work upside down, bent double after removing half of the dashboard. These are the joys of motoring if you do not have a large pot of money to call upon. Regards Alan
  8. We once walked up to the Post Office, as normal it was a Norfolk trek, I think it was open but it was quite a few years ago. I rather liked the shop/cafe and the cakes they sold. This is of course when I used to be able to eat cakes etc. Regards Alan
  9. Hello Sundog, Welcome to the forum. Regards Alan
  10. Hello Mark, A tidy looking boat, what is her airdraft? Regards Alan
  11. Sadly these days there are part fitters rather than service engineers, if they do not have the part they do not have the time, temperament, or skills to repair a circuit board for example. Regards Alan
  12. Sadly one of our owners used a jet washer on the boat not long after it was polished for the 2018 Season, we ended up having it re polished because the jet washer took off most of the polish. They are OK for some jobs but not for all. Regards Alan
  13. Hi Ian, I hope you and Marina enjoy yourselves. Regards Alan
  14. Speaking from a syndicate point of view this topic is a none starter. When we were allowed to change our toll from commercial to private (with listed owners/trustees) we had to supply the Broads Authority copies of our draft contracts for judgement of our application. From an insurance point of view we also have to declare all of our owners, their profession, and contact details. The same can be said for the Small Ships Registry. An owner has to be aboard the boat when ever the boat is moved from the Marina. I would assume, most if not all syndicate, shared ownership and most private boats on the Broads are governed by similar rulings. Regards Alan
  15. I was once loaned a Mazda RX8 after an apprentice damaged the drivers door on my Xedos 8 after reversing off of the rolling road, whilst my car went through their body shop. Another main dealer that do not always get it right. Regards Alan
  16. Tan & I had a sit in a MX5 a few years ago and found them very small with the driver & passenger rubbing shoulders, the height issue was another of the things we noticed . Regards Alan
  17. Hi Robin, The Joys of motoring. I am afraid you will encounter more of this in the future. My rear box fell off the car after blowing on the 2nd March, we went up Station Road to the garage there and they ordered 3/4 of the system at 10.30 am and I collected it completed by 1.00 pm. Great service on a Saturday morning. Regards Alan
  18. Hi Neil, We left Brundall on Tuesday after staying in the marina from Saturday morning, we could not take the two couples that came to inspect Ranworth Breeze on the river because of the windy conditions. We had to venture out on Tuesday lunchtime in order to top up the fuel and get the toilet tanks pumped out, we met with our fellow owners but they just used the boat until Thursday morning as a base when they decided it was best to go home. My mate Chris and I had a great time on the boat from the 1st to 12th March even with the conditions. We managed to get all the season start jobs completed and the boat was fully ready for the season ahead. Regards Alan
  19. Alternatively you can gain access from our list of webcams in the useful information tab. Regards Alan
  20. Hello Alan, Sorry I could not help, I saw your message towards the end of my visit to the Broads from the 1st to 12th March. I did not have much chance to get onto the internet other than times when back at the marina. Looking at the webcams it still looks out of date. Sadly I can not edit items in the useful information section. Regards Alan
  21. Dear all, The Broads Authority Maintenance team will be refurbishing the Dutch Tea Gardens moorings on Oulton Dyke throughout April 2019. Maintenance works will include the replacement of quay heading timber, renewal of mooring posts, repairing safety chains, ladders & signs as necessary, upgrading the mooring path and more. Some additional minor repairs will also take place on the mooring pontoon as required. During the works certain areas of the piled section of the mooring will be closed off, however the remaining piled sections and the mooring pontoon will remain open to users at all times. 22. Here is a link to youtube regarding 7 knots used on boats. Regards Alan
  23. I replaced my old boiler (a free standing) to a combination boiler, I still have my hot water tank and can use the immersion heater just for hot water in the summer I find this the best of both worlds. Regards Alan
