  1. Hi Jayfire, I managed to get to to Brundall by 9.30 am and dropped some stuff off so I could shop in Beccles at Morrison's, a bonus it is 20% staff discount there this week. Regards Alan
  2. I never drink Stella preferring Peroni, Becks, etc and never drink Carling since they messed with it a few years ago. Regards Alan
  3. I am setting off to the Broads in the next 10 minutes until the 7th May, if you see Ranworth Breeze on the southern rivers give me a wave, I will be flying the NBN burgee (yours for a modest price, please see the shop details). If you see me moored up pop over for a chat. Regards Alan
  4. You can get most of the above in the big breakfast in any of the Morrison's cafe's. Regards Alan
  5. Hello Mike, Welcome to the forum, I do not know one end of a rod from the other but many of our forum members know a think or two about fishing. Regards Alan
  6. Hi Griff, I have had it over 5 weeks, I am now into my fourth day of antibiotics after seeing a doctor on Wednesday. I hope you improve soon, the washed out feeling wears a bit thin after a while. Regards Alan
  7. I think we all see bad driving practices on most of the UK roads, at the end of the day we can do little about it, all we can do is give them loads of space and keep out of their way. There as always been poor aggressive or dangerous drivers on the roads, we just hear more about it by social media. Sadly the more miles per year you do the more you see these bad drivers and people that should have given up driving years ago, when I was young we used to call them flat capers, sadly these days I am at an age when I could wear a flat cap but have never chosen to do so, me and hats (other than the woolen type) do not get on. Regards Alan
  8. When we were hit by a Richardson's boat, they were very good about it delaying the repairs to the end of the season to be done during our Winter Service, the repairs done to the bathing platform rubbers were so badly done we advised Richardson's not to pay the local yard we used for the repair. We would have done so much better having Richardson's doing the repair. We have since had to have this work redone over this years Winter Service by NYA who did a far better job. Regards Alan

  14. Hi Jono, I can well understand the pain of your broken ribs, I did that about 3 years ago and as you say coughing is not an option. You know well enough one hand for you and one for the boat. Regards Alan

  20. I wondered where that stalk had gone to! my Saab used to have one. Regards Alan
  21. I am surprised that no one has mentioned a washing machine, yes you could use a launderette but after a while that is going to wear a bit thin especially when you have to turn out in winter. Living on a boat is a lot different to visiting for 10 to 14 days. You need storage for all your cloths, shoes and the like. You will need more space for cleaning materials, a hoover, ironing board, iron etc. Regards Alan
  22. I always use the Broads Authority tide tables, these give you the height of low water. From these I calculate if a passage through the Yarmouth bridges and back again is possible. Our air draft with everything down is 9 foot 8 inches so in effect we are looking at 10 foot. A low water height of .014 meters or less will allow for 10 foot clearance. We have found that at the yacht station if you can see 7 rungs out water on the ladders there is a minimum of 10 foot at the bridges below. As always the bridge markers are never clear on the lower markings and there is not too many to check out in either direction. Regards Alan
  23. It must be just certain models, my old Xedos 8 (1996) was in better condition than most Fords, Vauxhall's. Regards Alan
