ExUserGone
Go for it Rick, I would certainly put it back on my visit list, not that I get on the northern rivers that often.
Regulo
Job one - moorings. That's going to be mightily expensive.

Chelsea14Ian
I hope and wish you good luck Rick.We always enjoy visiting the Lion.Yes the moorings do need improving.I may be wrong but I think they are owned by by someone on the right hand side. Not the pub. What ever happens I hope the pub comes back to life Here's hoping Ian
NorfolkNog
Yes, I believe the right hand bank is owned by the farmer and the left by the pub.

Mowjo
Be nice if someone decent took it over! I stopped using it when the previous owner took over, not only didn't I like his background the food went right downhill,, On the Moorings! couldn't a deal be done with the BA?? like lease them to the BA! most people I know moor there for the pub and food, so if it was turned into a 24hr BA mooring would it make any difference in pub trade or would it improve it, as if it was free mooring I'm sure it would always be full and not like the last couple of years, I've lost count of the times during the day when I've been past and there's only been one of two boats moored,

That plus anything, other than float away wood chippings, is way better than that blessed crushed concrete now being used on some 24hr moorings. Chelsea14Ian
Nice idea but they lost the moorings on the riverside. The owners withdraw the lease I believe .
MauriceMynah
Trial by forum is not acceptable. Let the courts do the job, they have the evidence, the newspapers do not, and we have even less.
JennyMorgan
I see that the local EDP24 has already dropped this story, perhaps we should too.

Chelsea14Ian
Also agree I hope what ever happens. The pub reopens. We also always call into the little shop.We have a number of the small broad seen painting.
JennyMorgan
Is there any relevance now? Fillery has a colourful and some would suggest questionable past however he's no longer at the Lion, the pub is for sale. That it is for sale is the only detail relevant to the Broads, surely that is 'end of'?
kfurbank
Couldn't agree more, Was never a fan of the previous landlord, as a few may know but that chapter is closed now, Sincerely hope that there is good news soon, and even better if it involves Rick. Here's to a better and much improved pub opening as soon as possible
Springsong
I wasn't sure where to put this but here goes. We had lunch at the White Horse Neatishead the other day. Rik was telling us that he has bought the Lion subject to a few Ts being crossed and I s dotted. So from the horses mouth so to speak.
Poppy
I have heard this too. Let's hope it's not just a rumour but based on fact. I also heard that the pub would be given a tart up and will open for the season, then close for proper refurbishment. My source claims the moorings are included in the package.
