MargeandParge
Wonderful news so lovely that a boat so cared for, goes to people that care. Enjoy your travels and we hope you carry on posting about your adventures. Kindest Regards Marge and Parge 2
Gracie
Forgive me if you've been up to Dilham or Coltishall in the past but if you haven't had that pleasure the cruise to Coltishall is stunning, one of my favourite places on the whole of the system. The water is so clear you can see the fish, King Kingfishers are in abundance. It's untouched and so very peaceful. Then, of course, you have some lovely pubs at and near the Common itself. If you get a chance go up to the end of navigation at the lock, an absolute delight x
Lulu
I have been to both places when on holiday with my parents but Graham hasn’t so can’t wait for him to see both places. 2
Bikertov
Great to hear that Mermaid will remain "in the fold", and look forward to hearing about her meanderings ! 2
YnysMon
That’s wonderful news. Glad to hear that Mermaid has passed into your care. I’m sure that Ian would have been chuffed that his pride and joy has passed into such good hands. 2
Lulu
Thank you everyone. We pick her up tomorrow and take her back to the marina. Mermaid is obviously a very different type of boat from Luna. Got to remember theres more boat behind to think about and being so much lower down will take some getting used to. I understand we will have a good view of the reeds from now on! 10
Ray
You'll see a lot more Kingfishers and other assorted wildlife too 👍
MargeandParge
I think the Safaris go under Potter better than others due to their beam. Kindest Regards Marge and Parge

Now you have confused me - you are picking Mermaid up from Marina, and then taking her back to marina ?? Make your mind up ! 1

Even I’ve gone under there, albeit there’s only been two suitable tides since I bought Springer’s Retreat, but ever hopeful.

Roy
Glad you brought mermaid as I was seriously considering having a look at her as I’m on the look out for a Hampton Safari but realistically I’m not ready to buy one but would have been very tempted ! so you ounce saved me the hard decision 😊 Enjoy your travels on her.
Broads01
Er, can someone explain the phrase "go under Potter"? Surely not cruisers fitting under Potter Heigham Bridge in 2024? 1

Oh ye of little faith. Water will be low sometime in March! (???) Has been for the last two years. Just have to be there on the right day. And if that prediction (guess, wishful hope) is right, I’ll apply for a job at the Met office.

grendel
or this - (6'1") to be honest I cant see what all the fuss is, every time I hired a boat from Marthams I got through in both directions without a fuss.

Gracie
My goodness, that takes some nerve, well ruddy done. I've even shut my eyes when the Pilot takes us through Next time we hire a boat, I'm hiring one that WON'T go under the bridges x
grendel
if you hire a Marthams boat, their staff take you through Potter Heigham, any other bridge you have to do yourself, they are one of the few hire companies that dont stipulate a pilot for wroxham.
LizG
Having known who sold Luna, I now know who has purchased her and there is a semi connection. She is in excellent hands!
