Polly
We bought a touring caravan. It is operation beat lockdown as much as possible, also get a base so as to be able to work on Brilliant ( which has just gone into Whelpton’s workshed for some surgery...hooray) I can now announce that the caravan, or ‘Norma’ in honour of the ‘new normal’, should pass her boat safety test. Gas fine, extinguishers fine, CO monitor even fitted. Electrics also fine and nice new leisure battery. She would probably sink of course, but that isn’t on the test. 😋 5

Davydine
Didn't there used to be a hire boat that had a big open space at the back to load a caravan on to. In my head they were called “Caraliner” Didn't they end up as Brinks Topliner?
Polly
My inspiration! 😂 We will be fitting several oil drums, available at all good boatyards and our outboard motor. Should be fine. As sailies there will be minimal steering required, we will just rely on the windage to navigate.

Polly
Here we are a-caravanning on Er make that Beside the Broads. The wind over the marshes has been pretty lively but we managed to make the awning habitable for last night’s BBQ with the Chameleon Crew, JA and Ally. Great to see them and to catch up. Winterton and Horsey Wind Pump today were enjoyable visits. With the wind hossing down Upton Dyke and Phill with a bad arm we have not launched Whimp for a sail, we would never get out! The WX continues windy as is a bit Sauddes Law for the time of year so we shall have to see how things go.

YnysMon
Have you clicked on those three dots to the right of ‘author’? Top right of the text box. When I do that I get a drop down list that includes ‘edit’.

ChrisB
We are fast approaching the Autumnal Equinox, so wind and some unsettled weather is to be expected.
Polly
Yes that was my understanding too Chris, bad planning really, but we had had to put back this trip by a fortnight. Timbo, I like hedgehogs very much but as JA says, no clay.
