Smoggy
I have a tricky choice with not being able to go to the pub, out of my two local regulars one has cheaper beer but a miserable landlord, the other has nice landlord/landlady but dearer beer, so which do I not go to? It will be less depressing to not go to the pub with miserable landlord. I will save more money by not going to the pub with dearer beer. Decisions decisions.......
ChrisB
Don't go to either and then see how much money you have saved!

Personally I'd go to the one with the cheaper beer that way you can drink more. Maybe after a few the Landlord won't seem so miserable, if he still is then you won't care x 1
JennyMorgan
Surely it's both down to the brew on offer and how well the beer is kept? Then is the pub dog, child, music and football free? So many variables, so many different preferences.
Sam
Go to the nicer pub with the more expensive beer but drink less ( or spend more). Otherwise you might as well buy from the supermarket and drink it at home.
unclemike
think you lot have missed the point, its all about not going to a pub at all, but which one to not go to, as he cant go to either 1

Heavens, we could be worrying about really important issues, what fun would that be?
MauriceMynah
If I were you Smoggy, I'd try to find a third pub not to go to. Take a leaf out of Jayfires book. He's not going to loads of pubs. Variety is the spice of life.
grendel
in that case i would stay at home and have a beer previously purchased from an essential shop at the supermarket.

Now there's a plan, I could not go to Wetherspoons as well, that would make a good night in, and the pig'n'falcon is always good to not go to as I get to not see all the druggies'n'dickheads. Looks like it's a pub not crawl tonight, and I get to not have a hangover in the morning, except for that stack of blackshore at home.... 1
Guest
An advantage of being a livaboard - if we don't like the pub we move the house 😁

CambridgeCabby
I will enjoy not frequenting all those hostelries that have grumpy unwelcoming hosts , but I did that before lockdown . If they can’t be bothered with their customers then I don’t wish to be one , a British pub is so much more than just the beer (and wine Gracie) it is the ambiance and the company that warm feeling you get as you cross the threshold.

MauriceMynah
It was noticeable that the BBC, shortly after their colour warnings came out, changed their terminology. We had red Flood warnings , amber Rainfall warnings then, suddenly, Yellow warnings for snow.

Re swapping cloths, too much of that sort of hanky-panky along the rhond without you encouraging it!
