While out shopping yesterday I came across a out of season ale.....normally it would be at its best on the 30th November or the 25th January !

Still trying to keep up with Mr Nog, but doing my best. 

First day we cracked open a few of these. It was hot so we needed quite a few!

in the evening I got tempted with a little local cocktail. Local spirit, strawberry and chilli! I think they overdid the chilli and won't be going back for another!!

Glad you are enjoying it Mark. I can't drink more than 2 bintangs, or they do my head in. I stick to the european beers and I'm OK.

Moved onto a new hotel. They have different beer!!

so a light wheat beer to start and Mrs Runner had a local cider. 

Then I tried the dark wheat beer. Very caramel like. 

 Oh and Eric. The beer is a lot cheaper than the wine.  The hotel bill gave me a headache!!!

I took a liking to wheat beers in Belgium. Some though do have a kick like a mule !Good to see you are putting your liver through all the tests, Mark !

they aren't too strong, but are very similar to the Belgian wheat beers.

heeding your warning we tried a couple of these today. Got caught out in a thunderstorm for an hour up in the mountains and got absolutely soaked despite an umbrella each. So retreated to a bar to dry out!! No idea who the guy is in the background!

Onto another country and found what is supposed to be a micro brewery. 

Heres the menu

i had the summer ale and the wife had the lime wheat beer. Both quite nice and light. 

went to another bar and had a good old favourite. The Tiger beer!!

And if you think it's deer in Blighty, these were about £7 a pint!!!

That's why we only had one each and I couldn't afford a full pint for my good lady!!

young grace would have a heart attack at the prce if wine out here. God knows how much shoes cost (I have avoided the shopping malls so far).

Was drinking Elland Brewery's SPA in Wetherspoon's in Brighouse t'other day. Absolutely excellent draught pale ale at a very reasonable price. Made me wish I lived "up north" again.

New discovery (for me at least) this week though:-

A beer to my taste brewed down South in Lewes, where they use local spring water drawn up from an artesian well beneath the brewery.

HARVEY'S SUSSEX BEST

4% when found on draught

3.6% in bottles from the brewery shop (renamed as "Blue Label)

3.6% in cans from the brewery shop (labelled as Sussex Best) - I never thought that I would enjoy real ale from a can!

Sadly Steve non of them seem to keep well here in the north east, the tops keep coming off the bottles hic!

Can't think what you mean, Dave, once the tops are off the bottles in my house they never go back on again, never heard of such a thing

Beer bottle tops don't go back on if you wanted them to Grace, much like wine bottle corks.
