    I would love to know who made the comments at the Wooden boat show and I have a stern word. At least you made the effort to turn up none of us Wooden boat owners feel the boat is ever finished but like others have said you are keeping the heritage alive. you are more than welcome to moor next to us anytime.     Robin, i think the reason your washing machine floods is it fill by passing water through the drawer to collect powder softener etc, I’m guessing that the drawer needs removing and the buildup of powder sludge cleaning that’s blocking the pipe to the drum. Doug.

    If it was the one from London it was almost beyond repair. Someone clearly loves Brooms or have very deep pockets or both. Doug.

    I do 6 coats of 50-50 before rubbing back then another 4 to 6 coats of neat varnish rubbing down between every other coat, I also use good quality foam brushes and throw away after use as I don’t think you can always clean a brush successfully. Doug.

    I did my own Gardex treatment inside and out for £12 from flebay. The garage wanted £525. Doug

    If you walk into a car dealers nowadays with pockets full of cash they would refuse to take it. Most have a £5000 limit some even less, I could not even pay for my car with a debit card without a 1.5% surcharge but they did give me a lift to the bank to do an online payment. Doug.

    The last thing you need when sharpening chisels is heat and you cannot get a flat edge with such a narrow belt, I will stick to my oil stone thanks. Doug.

    I had a Polish lorry pull out into the side of me on the M25 writing off my car. I took 18 months to get the claim sorted as I had trouble proving it was his fault, when I got a replacement car the first thing I did was buy a dash cam as you would have seen the whole incident on camera if I had one fitted. Doug.

    I quite often cruise solo, on a centre cockpit boat.iIt just needs a bit more planning with ropes drinks snacks etc. If I need the loo I just nose into the reeds. Doug

    Yes their presence does make people slow down but it was the proximity to the 30mph sign I thought was wrong, they would have been better further up the road as pointing it at cars before the limit just means a bigger list of numbers to hand to the police. Doug.
