  1. Hi Mark, If you are staying on the Southern Rivers we may see you around, we are down to the Broads from 2nd March until 15th March, admittedly we will be getting the boat ready for the season start from the 2nd to 5th March. I do recommend that you moor up at the Staithe at Loddon, there is a choice of four pubs and cafe's, a safe haven out of the storms but you can forget phone reception, its off the map unless you stand on one leg by the road bridge. It takes about an hour to get up the river Chet. Rockland Staithe is good with only the road to cross from the New Inn. We like to moor up at the Reedham Ferry, food is good and we like to watch the ferry crossing the river. Regards Alan
  2. Hello Howard, Thank you for your first post, I guess you have been a watcher for a few years. Regards Alan

  4. Welcome to the forum Chris. Regards Alan
  5. Hi Paul, I get this on the boat and when we have hired narrow boats in the past the longer I am on the boat the longer it lasts, usually ater a week aboard it takes about a couple of days for the effect to subside. Whenever you are sat the effect seems to be worse. Regards Alan
  6. Hi David, Maybe for Graces benefit it may have been better to use different coloured arrows in the last screenshot, or it could have been having a choice of more than one that caused the problem Regards Alan
  7. We also watched it and likewise found it entertaining, looking forward to the other waterways on the next episode. Regards Alan
  8. I was hoping that they would not go forward with this course of action, Station Road is very busy, boat transporters have grounded on the crossing and there i over 90 trains a day that go through the crossing, it is going to be an accident in the waiting going to an automatic crossing as well as putting at least 3 if not 4 people out of work. Regards Alan
  9. Hello Boycee, I will ask one of the Team to check this out for you, sadly since the new layouts I can not get into this area to do any modifications. Regards Alan
  10. Hi John, That is indeed the question many will be thinking about, the devil we all know about but new blood will have its own agenda. Regards Alan
  11. Give a thought to the poor lab technician that has drawn the short straw for the revealing the pooch culprit in this DNA saga. On changing their job what would they put on their CV Regards Alan
  12. Hello Katie, Welcome to the forum. Apart from the few that were born at the helm, we all had to start our journey of leaning the ropes on the waterways. If you have any questions, want of advice or just a chinwag the forum has a wealth of knowledge in its members. Regards Alan
  13. The situation with Peel Ports will not improve if they do move all their operations to Liverpool. Regards Alan
  14. Dear All Boundary Farm mooring on the River Bure is now open following repairs. Kind Regards Laura Milner Administrative Officer Operations Broads Authority Tel: 01603 756035
  15. Hello Jayfire, I am so glad that you have found the benefits of the syndicate route all of the syndicate boats on the Broads have saved their owners a fortune over the years, we are into our 18th year on the Broads. As you know the boats vary in style and the number of berths available, some syndicate oppoperate on fixed weeks or allocations drawn out of the hat, some have two weeks allocations some have four weeks. Syndicates are not for everyone, it is all down to if you like boating but have limited holidays available, still working or do not have the resources to have your own boat. In our case Tan and I have had 34 allocation weeks at varying times of the year and other time with extra days or weeks from time to time. If anyone wants any advice by all means contact myself or members of the other syndicates on the Broads, we have several forum members who own syndicate shares or are members of the syndicates management teams. Back down to the boat on the 2nd March Regards Alan
  16. Thank you for sharing Chris as you say it is hard and impossible to forget your memories that you had on your boat. I am pleased to hear that you will keep boating in some way or other. I have spoken to many people in your circumstances who have had to sell their boats because of little use, ill health or change in lifestyle. Syndicate or shares in a boat by like minded people (take for example Broad Ambition) might be a way forward for you. Regards Alan
  17. The BSS does cover items such as hoses where the British Standard mark is not marked on them; in some instances these have to be replaced with hoses that are not even up to the same specification. Most if not all the inspectors I have used on Ranworth Breeze have been fair minded and have been open with their recommendations for improvement if needed. Regards Alan
  18. Hi Ian, oldgregg is a lurker that has been with us for a long time. He likes the Mighty Boosh hence the oldgregg name. Regards Alan
  19. Hi Matt, Apart from the direction blunder; are you now going to be mooring in Horning? If so where are you going to? Regards Alan
  20. Hi ChrisB, We all know that there will be a knock on effect if their purchasing department use any local suppliers, lets hope for all concerned that they do not go into receivership, the only people who get anything is the tax, VAT and the administrators. Regards Alan
  21. If Ricardo is still on the New Cut if he is like anyone else he will be bored unless a train passes by. This is one section of the Broads that Tan is happy to relinquish the helm Regards Alan
  22. Hi Snowy, That sounds about right, it depends on Reedham bridge however. Regards Alan
