But who cannot remember the joys of your first stern moor ( or any ) or the first/last time you tried moornig with the tide. PS thats only 2 days what about the rest of the week? As and add on what is the daftest thing you have done and will admit to? jumping off into a bed of nettles is mine. Paul

Paul Paul, How about using a stern spring to get out of a mooring but forgetting to brief the crew properly. Crew-member held the spring until the bow came out, so I then went ahead... I didn't realize that my crew-member had been holding it FROM THE BANK! So when I went ahead I had a crew-member on the bank and a stern line trailing astern. Not really that embassasing until I went to turn the boat around and engaged astern... Reversed over my stern line and got a prop-wrap! oops! Involved the BIG BLACK GLOVE if I remember, and his mother in laws teeth. I will see if I can find it.

JawsOrca
LOL Brilliant amazing tale, very well put together and so very true! I'd love to have heard what happened when Roger et al went over Breydon for the first time! Perhaps that happened and he's not recovered and hence not been back!!
