I used to get a half-crown for my pocket money. When I was about 50 I reminded my dad that he had forgotten my pocket money for about 35 years and he owed me a lot of money before I even started to compound the interest. Frankphughes
I love fish but prefer Seafood. Can you catch crabs on the broads? I found the tube vid regarding the rond anchor really helpfull. Are there other videos etc show in the different types of mooring in particular the mooring in tidal areas.

It's possible to catch a crab if you are rowing a dinghy around the broads

Seagypsy
On the subject of half crowns the only thing I know that came down in price after decimalization was the toll for a lorry over the Severn Bridge before it was a half crown after it was 12p
Ray
Bargain lol Doing away with the half p was another opportunity for inflating prices I seem to recall. Why is it prices are always rounded up and wages rounded down? Purely rhetorical

Frank you are either teasing us or it's a saying you just happen not to have come across. To "catch a crab" while rowing is to make a stroke in which the oar either misses the water or digs too deeply, causing the rower to fall backwards. ...
