Andrewcook
I thought the ( Broads Authority) Dredged out that Neatishead Staithe for better Depth for Cruisers and Sailing Boats that have got Keels underneath them. As for the paths that was ill-thought out as loose Granite will damage the Fibra Glass and Wooden Boat decks the only way I can suggest is to put a Door mat near your Boat
CambridgeCabby
The crushed granite used is an issue at Fleet Dyke too , there is no point updating moorings in such a way that can cause damage to a boat
Chelsea14Ian
Surely if there's any damage to your boat, private or hire. Then claim against BA.

Chelsea14Ian
We've spent lots of money on Mermaid. If we moor there and the work causes damage to the boat. They will get a bill for work!
Ray
I agree with the principle Ian but I think they'd just say you shouldn't have moored there if it's not suitable for your boat. Which raises another whole raft of questions about losing (suitable) moorings!
ChrisB
Land shoes and deck shoes and the changing between the two used to be commonplace when I was young. Along the South Coast at any rate, maybe we just got lazy, or modern waistlines make a simple task like changing shoes a chore.
bucket
We still do Chris, land shoes, deck shoes and always slippers when inside......despite my modern waistline! New limestone/granite aggregate paths are a pain mind, although they do settle after a bit of weather and wear. I remember Ranworth being "improved" some years ago......same issue back then!

Still common on Chiltern Lady too, slip-ons essential though…😎
floydraser
Skechers are currently marketing slip ins. The TV advert seems to suggest that modern youngsters living their busy lives don't have time to bend down and put their shoes on. Nothing about old 'uns who struggle though, but then they're probably too sensible to shell out £95.
Ray
Elastic shoelaces... having tried them as a complete sceptic I now think they're great. Fit them once and any ordinary shoe becomes a slip on, they stretch as you insert your foot but always go back to a nice tight fit, although you can readjust them if necessary I've never had to.
ChrisB
Never knew they existed Ray, cheers I will try some.
Broads01
I think I'll try those as well. My late father wore nothing but slip ons but I never got on with them. When boating I have boat shoes, land shoes and dog-walking boots so I tend to be switching around a lot.
floydraser
I had a pair of Cotton Traders summer trainers which were excellent but for the elastic laces which had one of those plastic clips which were supposed to keep them tight, but didn't. I'll also try again but tie them normally this time?
JawsOrca
It does seem a tad poor show if users of a mooring provided by the BA have to use special shoes because an unsuitable material has been used.. why are we jumping through hoops instead of getting the BA to use suitable materials?

81011
A good option for the elastic laces are Lock Laces, available on Amazon.....

ExSurveyor
All this talk of elastic laces and slip on shoes is a downwards slope to a care home. I will stick with my velcro wrap overs 1
