  1. Well said Eobin. Always done north and south on single weeks. But then again, I do like chugging.
  2. Aye, Yorkshire one - South Africa Nil!
  3. Absolutely right about butchers sausage usually being the best. Best store bought ones I've had are from the Sainsburys taste the difference range. The cumberland sausages. Not a ngenuine cumberland because they are link sausages rather than a continuous snorker!
  4. Am sure that I have read somewhere that the dredging heavy hardware, of Bam Nuttall I think it was, had been bought up by the BA?? Maybe that's why it looks suspiciously close!
  5. Hmmmmm.... I've added an invertor, fancy charger to "Crackers" and wired up the solar panel, (although I'm not sure what it puts out/in?), tube heater and TV/DVD palyer! The heater works very well!
  6. When watching the webcams I often see views and zooming that clearly cannot be achieved using the public controls. I suspect the Yard bods often use it for whatever reason???
  7. I bet you can all recall the "Skoda" jokes as well! I suspect its Skoda who are smiling now!
  8. Sadly, the Brundall Gardens Local History Group website is no more! Listed as "expired"! RIP
  9. Keith is right. There is a big difference between laid back and simply rude. Wonder if Norfolk's finest might change their tune when these companies go t*ts up? Take your business to the hairy monster at Wayford.
  10. Except Craig does not seem to have the Bridgecraft link under the same entry. Must have been re-registered at some stage.
  11. That's the very one! http://www.broads.org.uk/wiki/index.php5?title=Boat_Photograph&photo=n869_9507&BoatId=5867&BoatHistory=9507
  12. Yes indeed Alpha, was renamed "Jaguar" soon after and sold on. we loved the boat apart from having a new damper drive at Yarmouth Yacht Station mid holiday taking two days.
  13. I suddenly seem to have a problem with Windows 10. whenever I try and enter letters into the web address bar in the browser or even capital letters in a search, a bl^^dy blue screen asking me to set up mail account jumps up. This happens mostly with uppercase characters or the first character of an entry. How can I get rid of this please? I can't seem to find a way of disabling MS Mail. (I don't use it, use BT and yahoo)
  14. Curious as to where the boat in the second picture is moored? That's not Acle Bridge. Looks more like St Olaves to me. Tidy looking Norman 23. Could be a "library" picture?
  15. Well Robin, Chefs that are gods is a new one to me........ Where are you going to look?
  16. Can add a tale here.... Was out on "Samarkand" form AlphaCraft with friends moored at Ranworth. I wanted a pint or three but nobody else did. Wanted to watch bloody TV all night. We had a dingy so, while they were all avidly glued to the telly, I slipped the mooring ropes and gently towed the boat out into the middle, slipped down the mud plug and went for said pints! As I reached the quay I heard a voice complaining the TV ariel needed moving! They never did seem to see the funny side!
  17. Anyone else having problems viewing the video? T get "This video is private"! Help!!
  18. Yes Mike, that;s exactly where Mr Toad was. Gary was selling her/him via Boatshed. In the end a survey showed hugely extensive rot in the planks and she sold for around £3,000 and left the Broads. At the time I was looking at the boat a very "traditional" looking "old salt" fella in a huge wool roll top gansey, crooked cap and puffing a curly pipe (Don't know quite how else to describe him} turned up and says the boat had been on the bottom twice in the broadest norfolk accent I've heard! Should have seen Gary's face!
  19. Before I actually bought "Glenmore" I very very nearly bought a very handsome woody called "Mr Toad". I think the builders were Chumley & Hawkes but I'm not certain. Sadly I can't find the boat on Craigs site. I do know that when last sold in around 2007/8 the boat left the Broads.
  20. I suspect there are a few of "Brooms" woodies still around. One pristine example that I was moored alongside for some time is "Princess Zena".
  21. John is right about fixed moorings at Brundall rather than rise and fall pontoons. When I was at Brundall Gardens before its makeover I had a fixed mooring for my Norman. If I didn't get the tide times right it was positively dangerous trying to get on and off.
  22. I am a reasonably frequent visitor to ale establishments and nearly always there is a regular wandering in and out for a quick gasper.
  23. I'm a smoker making vain attempts to cease but I have no problems with the smoking ban as it stands. Lots of pubs have made ingenious attempts to provide a "smoking solution" outside and I would be pee'd off greatly if this was also banned. I suspect extending the ban might just reduce many a pubs takings.
  24. Yes, Asda did drop below £1 but, as soon as they were aware another fall in the price of crude was announced they quickly put it back up again so that they would be ready to cut it again! Some of these supermarkets are as bent as the banks!
  25. If you are hoping to do much outside steering I hope you have a back reinforced with girders! The position of the wheel really is that bad! Great boatyard just a shame about the boat. I would seriously consider amending your booking! "Broadland Light" would suit you well!
