  6. Maybe the next thing that Mr Johnson and his cabinet of experts will come up with will be that all new houses will have to be fitted with built-in charging points at no additional cost to the buyer. Also anyone living in a house already built will have a charging point provided free gratis !!! There would also have to be guaranteed maximum charges for the power. Jeff
  7. I would have thought it was very easy and not complicated to not click on anything that you don't want to read about. Jeff
  8. We've just had a phone call to tell us that the breakdown insurance we have for our washing machine has expired and that they could renew it if my wife gave them her bank account details over the phone !!!!!!!!! They said that they were ringing from Domestic & General but when my wife said that our insurance was not due to expire they promptly put the phone down. My wife rang D & G and was told that this would be reported to their fraud department and praised my wife for not giving any information Jeff

  18. Is anyone else still having a problem signing in? When I try to go on the forum I still get the message to sign in. When I do this I still get the error message. This results in me not being able to sign in and get into the members only area. If I just click on a topic it goes to that topic and has my name at the top right as normal but if I come off that topic I get straight back to the request to sign in again. Can anyone tell me in plain English what I am doing wrong? PLEASE !!! Jeff
  19. When cooking oil first came on the market I worked for a company who produced it. They supplied several companies with their "own label" product including Co-op, Fine Fare, Tesco , Mace and Sainsburys. The only difference in any of them was the colour of the label and the cap on the bottle. Jeff
  20. Just tried this myself and even when I have signed in it still gives me an error message Jeff Just tried again (5th go) and I am now signed in
  21. There is a site overlooking the river at Wroxham. Turn off at the zebra crossing outside NBD and follow the road until you see the bridge at the old Porter & Haylett yard. The site is next to the river before the bridge. I have no idea who controls the site but no doubt someone on here will be able to help with that. Hope this helps a bit Jeff
  22. My first ever holiday on the Broads was on Gala Girl back in 1964. I remember as a 16 year old thinking how clean, smart and tidy everything looked when we arrived to a very friendly welcome at the yard. We were shown where our boat was and all we could see was 30 feet of what looked like soap suds. Once they were hosed off the boat we were shown on board . Nothing was too much trouble when my dad asked to have something explained again so we knew just what we had to do with the mechanics of oil, water and weed filters etc. Whenever I have visited the yard since there has always been a very pleasant welcome. I have always been impressed with the smart and clean condition of their boats whenever I see one A sad loss to lose a yard with such high standards Jeff
  23. I have never heard anything but praise for the excellent turnout of the boats from Silverline. Maybe part of the reason for this is the fact that they do not encourage taking dogs on board. I think that the yards that do allow dogs on board usually say that the dog should be kept OFF the seats and beds but watching some of the videos posted on here and youtube shows that a lot of people don't take any notice of this condition. A few weeks ago whilst moored at Ranworth the crew of a boat from Barnes Brinkcraft seemed quite proud of the fact that their 2 dogs had jumped up on to the bed and slept there all night. I am a dog owner myself but would not dream of allowing my dog to do anything like that. Jeff
  24. I went over Sutton bridge this afternoon and there was no sign of any work being done. There are some signs about saying that there is work to be done but nothing happening today. When we went west to east last Monday we were held up for about 10 minutes. That was mid to late morning. Hope this is helpful. Jeff
  25. Just wondering if anyone has an update on Sutton Bridge planned roadworks. We are due to travel down on 30th Sept. Is it likely to be a good idea to divert via Wisbech and Downham Market ? Coming down from Humber bridge area Jeff
