For me, on my date of birth, it was Connie Francis, singing "Who`s Sorry Now", but my most memorable birthday no 1 was a band called Christie in 1970 when i had my 12th birthday. It was a song called "Yellow River", and was quite ironic, as it was the first morning i woke up on a boat on holiday, on the Broads, and tied up at Reedham, having come from Aston Boats at Loddon.  I have`nt been able to keep away from the Broads ever since.

I think I must be about the same age as Griff as the No. 1 for my birthday is also ‘Please don’t tease’ by Cliff and the Shadows.

Anyway, at least it wasn’t ‘Shakin’ all over’, the following week’s No.1, or even worse, ‘My old man’s a dustman’ from March that year!
