Apparently my birth was heralded by Geraldo and his Orchestra with "We'll gather Lilacs", and Kathleen Ferrier changed recording companies.

Did I really say that?

"Some enchanting Evening" Perry Como" & "Ghost Riders in the Sky" Vaughn Monroe and his Orchestra.

There are a number of sites where you can look this up but I like this one.

https://www.mybirthdayhits.co.uk/

It gives you the number ones across the years on all your birthdays, not just the one when you were born.

On the day that I was born it was I Can't Stop Loving You by Ray Charles but when you get to the 70s, that's my decade, and there were some great tunes hitting the top spot on my birthday. Who remembers Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep by Middle of the Road and Welcome Home by Peters and Lee? But best of all we have Puppy Love by Donny Osmond. That makes me very happy. :default_eusa_dance:

In the UK record charts were not introduced until 1952, so my birthday in 1951 here are the contenders for sheet music sold, Jimmy Young for Too Young, Nat King Cole for Too Young and Tony Bennett for Because of You.

Sorry RB :default_sad: I didn't intend this to exclude folks from participating. :default_biggrin:

Still, you got Nat King Cole as a contender, what a voice.
