Vaughan Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 I didn't watch it anyway. At least I can go down to the baker's shop this morning without fear of reprisals. Trying to explain Brexit was bad enough . . . . 4 Quote

Chelsea14Ian Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 True, think he needs glasses. He gave the French too much leeway. 1 Quote
Gracie Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 England played well I thought and agree about the Ref, he did choose to ignore a few things for sure, he should have gone to specsavers. With some of the young players England have now such as little Saka they could do very well in the Euros. Well done England x 3 Quote
SwanR Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 We’ve got tickets to a concert for the same evening as would’ve been the semifinal. At least we don’t have to decide between the two now. 2 1 Quote

Not quite as bad as living in the country but I did have to fly Lufthansa from Heathrow to Frankfurt on the Monday morning after Germany had just won Euro96 🫣 Quote

rightsaidfred Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 The standard of Officials in all major competitions is abysmal, FIFA are a joke as is everything they are associated with, England have nothing to be ashamed of. Fred 3 Quote
Chelsea14Ian Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 No it started to happen a week or so ago.I have asked the mods if it's me or the forum that causes the problem. They think it's my end.I don't have problems elsewhere. 2 Quote

Gracie Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 No worries Ian, these things happen. Our Lady Monica is on top form this morning Can I have some of what she's having x 1 Quote
floydraser Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 Didn't see the game but it's always a shame when a match is spoilt by a bad ref or some other controversy. It sounds like it was a good contest; France won but they had to play their best to beat us. So we played as good if not better than the World Champions. I'll take that. 2 Quote

PaulN Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 That referee wouldn't be allowed to officiate after one match in the premiership. Wrong decisions and so much delay in decisions. You would think a Brazilian would know a bit more about football. 2 Quote
grendel Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 I think his phone is just allowing a bit of extra headroom. 2 Quote

jeffbroadslover Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 It amazes me that a bloke who "trains" for hours and hours can't kick a ball into a massive hole with another bloke stood in the middle of it. On top of that he is regarded as the best this country has!!!!!!!!!! And he gets paid a fortune for not being able to do his job properly Jeff 1 Quote
BroadAmbition Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Yes, that very same statement was brought up quite a few times last night in t pub Griff Quote
Gracie Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 I understand how people feel. I would think there is no one beating themselves up about missing the penalty more than he is right now, he looked broken walking off that pitch. He will fly home to his mansion or off on an exotic holiday but he is still a human being with feelings and no I am not a Spurs fan x 2 Quote

Playing for your country is more about the honour, than the money. I do believe though if the club wages were a lot lower more of the grass roots fans would be able to attend matches again. 2 Quote
Chelsea14Ian Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 True sums of money paid is way to much. The problem being if the prem don't paid such ,many will move to European clubs. Not enough money is paid to lower leagues.I think more should filter down to them. 2 Quote
addicted Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 I'm not a big football fan by any means and rarely watch a match. I do however support the Spurs and I did actually watch the England match on Saturday. In fact to my own surprise I turned the air blue! The ref' was a disgrace I thought. Not only failing for the most part to acknowledge fouls against England, he actually seemed to me to turn tail and run off in the opposite direction whenever one ocurred. My heart bled for Harry. That missed penalty will haunt him forever I should think. Carole 3 Quote
