Best ever boat names

Many years ago I worked for a towing company on the Thames, and we were contracted to tow a very old houseboat to the Upper Thames. Its name was "Llamedos" Please read from right to left!  She was an unlucky vessel. twelve months later she sank on her moorings, and we were involved in her salvage.

Perhaps the name was not a lucky one!

Some of them made me laugh, saw one on a TV show the other night so not sure it really qualifies, it was called "The Orphanage" and was owned by a swindling pension pot pilferer, a bit like Mr Maxwell, he'd set up several charities to which he held fund raising events and paid all the proceeds into the "Orphanage" account - one person commented it was the only orphanage he'd been in that had no kids in...

Well made me chuckle

cheers

We used to go to Bowness where we had a time share cottage on the Marina at the Winderemere Marina Villiage in the early 8o's they had a lot of the larger cruisers up to 50 foot.

There was a ToysRus but the one that always got me was the one named "Igotitrobin" there was always far to many people up there swimming with gold chains for my liking.

Regards

Alan

I chuckle at boat names which appear to derive from personal experience...

'Money Pit'

'Coste Grande'

'On A Whim'

'Last One'

Then there's the somewhat miffed-looking chap driving a boat called 'Helen's Choice'. He obviously lost the domestic argument on that one. :)
