Guest
Hi All, Ok so I'm looking for everyone's suggestions! What do I need to put aboard the boat to make it comfortable and fully stocked?? Beer Mooring Lines Fendoffs Matches ??? a second box of matches, and an emergency lighter..... I remember one hire boat holiday in the 1970's when our brew ups were rationed to one at bedtime and one at breakfast on the last day, when we were moored wild with only two matches in the box and no spares. The lighting of the stove was done very carefully.......
JennyMorgan
I once borrowed a hire boat, not realizing that since I had only borrowed it that no one had filled up the water-tank. No water, far worse than no tin opener, probably on a par with no toilet paper, especially with two young children on board and moored up for the night miles from anywhere. Moral of the story, check your water & fuel tank before setting off.

NonTecky
I've been trying to think of a reply to that JM. I have one reply, but I would probably have to Mod myself! Is it to do with trying to keep the flappy thing that sailies have, standing to attention in the breeze?
smellyloo
I always think a piano to be an essential bit of kit. First & foremost you need entertainment on board. Oh ..... and a bucket for when the entertainment results in an over indulgence of the lemonade.
RayandCarole
Strangely if you follow the screwfix link for the CO alarm and open the instruction manual pdf on page 5 it shows as not suitable for boats (sailies anyway)

VetChugger
You might be surprised at the usefulness of a blow torch! Rope ends, heat shrink etc.Great for "caramelising" (burning) some foodstuffs as well! One of the cooks type is what I found at the ever so reliable source for this sort of stuff, Aldi!
JennyMorgan
Those kitchen type blowtorches are really useful. Just don't forget to turn the darn thing off before putting it in your pocket though. Lidls sometimes do them too.
