  1. Goodness me! What a lot we're missing. I'll look mine out in the morning.
  2. Err, Jim, I think that Charlie is trying to sell you a NEW one!
  3. John, hello. I hope that this is just a temporary state, pal?
  4. Dave, hi. That's because the computer makes anyone over 50 posts into a generic full member. You'll see that your status (below your avatar pic) is still Members until you have been proposed & seconded in Full Members. That is presently ongoing.
  5. I've got the LIDL one and I use it extensively for sharpening. Rotary mower blades, hedge/lawn shears, scissors, spades, screwdrivers and just about whatever. Brill!
  6. Any chance that you would let us have a short written contents (and amounts) list with each vlog, please, Geoffrey?
  7. What a very brave 58 year old. He richly deserves more IMHO

  9. Hi, Glenn. There was thread on this recently which I'm sure that someone will be able to point you to. (Sorry that I've forgotten it's whereabouts))
  10. What a lovely surprise, Col & Lou. You are both most welcome back!
  11. A warm welcome aboard from us, Simon & Terri. Also looking forward to hearing about your life with Carol Annis!
  12. Daniel, hello. I wil go along with "mostly incorrect", as that's your opinion to which you are entitled, but "brainwashed " is somewhat excessive ? We are the friendly family forum and wish to keep it that way, please.
  13. Lulu, hi. A warm welcome aboard the good ship NBN from us. Best wishes with your new boat!
  14. Welcome aboard the good ship NBN, Sean.
  15. Absolutely, Lou. It's the magic energy formula, M x V2. Mass is constant but look at how the V2 looks: At 20 mph it's 400 velocity units At 30 mph it's 900 velocity units At 40 mph it's 1600 velocity units Between 20mph and 30mph that extra10 mph doubles the energy you inflict on that child!
  16. That would have been some weekend! As an update to you all, I'm now into three weeks since my total right knee replacement operation (why we had to put Friday Girl up for sale). I visited the hospital physiotherapist yesterday and he was most pleased with my progress. I have the left knee done in 2018 and then it will be quite a while before I will venture onto the water again, in whatever shape! Most probably Spring, 2019.
  17. Dave, Hi. That won't be too long either!
  18. Congratulations! The Fairline Holiday was our first boat together, back in '82. She had the Volvo 175bhp straight 6 petrol engine and we bought her in Dartmouth. Then brought her back to Brundall via Guernsey and Alderney. We took her to Holland a couple of times; she was a good little sea boat!
  19. No, Charlie, it was a Dommy, with the immortal "Featherbed" frame!
