My Day

Recommended Posts

oh dear, my condolences, still 92 wasnt a bad innings and he has now gone where he wont suffer any more.

its something that I have expectations of having to go through any time soon with my parents at 92 and 90 respectively, they both still live at home and get around (slowly) with mine and my sisters assistance.

Thoughts with you Helen, and Graham, and the family. It's hard to see the decline of those we love, and those who have been such an influence on our own lives. I hope the days ahead will go as well as these times ever can. xx

My thoughts continue to be with you Helen and Graham and boys. You did all you could for him lately and he just slipped away. I’m so happy you were able to get up there before he died. It should really help you both. Xxx

So sorry to hear this Helen, it is always sad when someone passes but there will be light ahead for you all.

With my parents and in-laws we knew the time was coming and thankfully they all passed peacefully after short illnesses, they knew and we knew it was time. It doesn't make it any less sad but knowing they were ready helped.

Thinking of you all.

Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes. As Grendel says, he and we were very lucky that he lived to 92 in pretty good physical shape. He was still active in the Scout movement, teaching ballroom dancing and acting as a guide in the local historic church until the Covid pandemic. When younger he was our area’s Scout District Commissioner.

He will also be remembered by the Trearddur Bay Sailing Club, as he owned the small boatyard that floated their boats annually, carried out marine repairs and manned the rescue launch. He was also Coxwain of the first rib lifeboat to be established at Trearddur Bay.

A full life, well lived.

we are learning that life turns full circle, when we were small we held on to our parents hands so we didnt fall and hurt ourselves, nowadays its the other way around with us holding their hands so they dont fall and hurt themselves.

I recognise this completely with my mum who's 91 and still insists she's taking care of me and my older brother bless her.

Such a lovely post

I'm holding my parents hands at the moment just as they have always held mine

Deepest sympathy to your family. My mum died in her sleep at the age of 94 after spending her final two years in a care  home. It was not actually expected but with her declining health ,a blessing for her and the family. The matron at the home who was absolutely lovely made a comment which actually made us smile. She said she was not on their list to pass away just yet !! It did brighten a sad day.

Martin & family.
