Nooooooooo!  Aside from being in Skegness, which is top of my list of places I dont ever want to visit again (been twice, second time was a serious error of judgement), Christmas decs in early  November are just wrong!  Not the earliest Christmas (there, said it again!) party we've heard about.  We were in The Ferry House in September when a local boat club were having their Christmas dinner. Nearly made me choke on my food when they broke into a few verses of 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas'

I sorted a few ouse-about Christmas do's in january, seemed the perfect time as just before Christmas everywhere is booked up and lots of people are busy with other do's, come january the pubs are all quiet and glad for the custom and everyone is available, turkey and crackers are dead cheap too.

Doh! At this rate we’ll have Christmas decor all year round.

From your resident grump!

When I was a little un, we used to get things in season. Now that there’s demand all year round for everything it’s taken the ‘specialness’ away somehow. Hot cross buns in November, no problem. Same with veggies, as they can be imported from somewhere or other.

Sorry Hells Bells, we're all far too busy stuffing our faces with Easter Eggs whilst writing out our Valentine's cards sat in our hammocks applying sun cream, you'll have to do your seasonal moaning louder :default_xmas2: :default_xmas6: :default_xmas5: :default_xmas4: :default_xmas3: :default_xmas4: :default_xmas5: :default_xmas6: :default_xmas2:

Back in August 89 (bank holiday monday to be exact), we went into Notcuts Garden centre in Bearstead, just east of Maidstone.  They were busy building their CHRISTMAS Grotto.

I feel really sorry for people who claim they hate Christmas, i totally love it, but absolutely HATE the way it`s been so commercialised. I think ANYTHING to do with Christmas should be totally banned until the 1st December.

The most rediculous thing we`ve ever had is food stuff that`s packed in Christmas packaging, yet has a sell by date in late November. Worst case of commercialisation i`ve ever seen.

Totally agree...Christmas is Very special, and needs to be kept as special and  not splurged across the rest of the year! (Is splurged a word?...anyway, it is now!)

But, but, but...... I'm already on my 8th box of mince pies :default_sad:
