Chelsea14Ian
Just watched the first programme. They started at Lowerstoft and made they way to Ramsgate
ZimbiIV
Yes Ian and it was tedious, boring and hopefully the next episode is better or the series record is off. paul
eddybear
Well watched the programme on catch up this morning, started off as a bit of a disaster with engine failure before actually leaving Lowestoft, then they had the boat towed over 70 miles to Brightlingsea which is my home waters so seeing it actually sailing in the River Colne and Blackwater was quite a treat,Then they went and spoiled it all by boarding another boat and went fishing, I then got a bit bored and changed channels let's hope the next episode is a little more interesting other than the Sailing bit I have already mentioned. VetChugger
Since John Sergeant did that series on a narrow boat where he clearly only got on it for the TV moments and his ridiculous foray into what is allegedly dancing, I have found he irritates the hell out of me! This program did nothing to improve that opinion sadly. Shame really because I always found Micheal Buerk interesting to listen to.
Broads01
Wow from the comments so far I think you'd have to pay me to watch this. Whilst there's nothing at all wrong with "mature" presenters I do wish TV bosses would take a risk on new people rather than sticking with the same old safe bets. Jbx5
Yes watched it and found the presenters boring. Could have made an interesting good programme with the idea being good but poorly executed. John
keifsmate
I may be being uncharitable, but I thought the engine failure and the idea of anchoring in the channel seemed a bit contrived. They jilled about outside before coming in and finally being towed into the Waveney dock.
GaryandDawn
I thought the same as Kiefsmate, there was no sound of overheat alarm and when port control was contacted the boat name wasnt mentioned, maybe the program makers aimed at non boat owners with no knowledge, but boaty people will pull it to pieces, i guess this could promote boating and encourage more people to take it up, we did enter the competition tho...........gotta be in it to win it. I will continue to watch a couple of old boys havin' a bit of fun.
Smoggy
I was looking forward to this as it's a lot of the bits I've cruised but as soon as I heard about a 70+ mile tow from within a harbour I lost interest, surely the nature of what they are trying to do must mean a lot of spare time factored into the schedule for breakdowns and weather problems onlt to start with a very long tow, I guess the towing vessel must have been quite taken aback by the request but chuffed with the earnings from it. A tow in from sea is no problem to accept, and what is the flappy thing on the stick for? Poor show I recon.
YnysMon
Well it didn’t start off well, but there were some good stretches of sailing just before the end of the programme and I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and see if it’s any better next week. Somehow it seems like it was John Sergeant’s idea and Michael Buerk sounds a bit dubious, but maybe that’s part of the ‘hook’. Not impresssed with channel 5 production values anyway. TeamElla
I looked forward to this first programme with interest. It’s a route that I have long been interested in and wanted to travel. What an utter disappointment with the first leg being completely wiped out. The apparently professional crew can’t even make it out of the harbour without their engine failing.(I am no diesel engine specialist but I would be devastated if my maintenance was so poor that I couldn’t motor 200 yards without engine failure). Hoping for an improvement on the second leg (it didn’t), and the interaction between the celebrities became utterly irritating. Finally on the last stretch some interest as they crossed the Thames Estuary but the jury is out on whether I want to see any more of this series. ChrisB
You must remember these are not '"sailing programmes" they are tv. General entertainment, like flogg-it is not an in depth antique show.

Much more entertaining to watch (and these programmes often include some snippets of navigational interest).
Vaughan
I think I have said before that I am fed up with programmes where the celebrity presenters think they are far more important than the subject of the programme. I wonder what the owners of that lovely yacht must think of think of this? On the other hand, there was always Hans and Lotte Haas. Now there was a programme that kept you glued to the screen! Remember her, diving in her bikini? I learned an awful lot about coral reefs and all taught by a Nordic mermaid!
