NorfolkNog
Hate going off topic - however a lot of drunkenness is caused by 'pre loading' on cheap supermarket booze. Many taxi drivers pick people up who are drunk before they even go out. A well run pub actually encourages sensible social drinking.

SPEEDTRIPLE
So let`s start a campaign then eh?. Keep the Broads "Alcohol free", then that will discourage a lot of the hen / stag crews and render the Broads back to being the place of peace and quiet we all say we love it to be?. Sir, that is an outrageous statement/question. I'll have you know that I am the proud owner of a most copious and accommodating stomach, more than capable of holding as much breakfast and real ale as any man would desire. SpeedTriple, Some years ago I had to go tea total. This was from 2003 to 2011. Did I use pubs in that time? Yes often. Did I use my boat in that time? Yes Often. It is my experience and opinion that with most drinks that have alcohol free versions, the alcoholic version is a far superior product and that most "soft drinks" are like drinking syrup. It seems to me that Soft drinks tend to be made to panda for the younger taste buds. When the drinks industry find a soft drink more suited for the more mature palate, there is much money to be made. I have drunk both tea and coffee in pubs (Nooo not at the same time!) and not really enjoyed the experience. Drinking beer in a café is equally unsatisfying. Now, I have not found anything in life that I enjoy, that warrants doing or consuming in moderation. I do as much of it as and when I can. Yeeee haaaaa

Guest
Its turned into a very handy guide this TT, thanks. The kids like going for something to eat when we head to the boat, depending on what time we arrive I take them for breakfast or an early dinner, but it's good to have a reference for all the different places they can try. I'll just sit with a pint whilst they eat of course

SteveO
I don't see Country Treats of Horning on your list. The food is good, cheap and plentiful. I particularly like their breakfast baps. I must admit that when boating, we tend to make our own. Bacon, egg, mushrooms and tomatoes served with toast and a large mug of hot tea..We tend not to have sausages but I have recently discovered the black pudding from Tavern Tasty Meats at Horning, which is made using fresh pig's blood and is absolutely delicious. For convenience and ease of washing up. we cook most of the items in the oven on foil-lined trays. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to cook so we tend to have it as an early lunch rather than a breakfast. Other black puddings are available from numerous outlets but these are the best I've had for a long time. Even Mrs O likes them and she is an avowed black pud hater.
