Last week we had a wonderful few days , the vista really is stunning afloat in the winter months

Definitely

We have just been on a walk with Roxy and Yogi who forced us into the Ship for one of the gravy bones behind the bar...

So we had to have a drink also!

😂

For those who use the Aweigh App

High tide was around 6.30pm on Monday 29th November and the Aweigh App displayed 1.54 metres which I assumed was low enough for the water not to overtop the quay heading and this morning high tide was around 7.30am and the Aweigh App displayed 1.60 metres

I can confirm that it did not overtop the quay this morning and had about an inch and half to spare

Hopefully this will give people a benchmark when visiting Reedham in the future

Over the next  week or so the Aweigh App is displaying 1.66, 1.70, 1.84 and 1.89 metres so it is likely to overtop and needs to be a consideration when mooring, particularly in winter

Cheers Smoggy

I use it as a guide only and it's rarely let me down

Just getting ready to leave Reedham, as we are going to go north today and have a couple of days whilst it is quiet and before the navigation through GY is closed

Today we set off around 10am for our journey to the Northern Broads

IMG-20211130-WA0000.thumb.jpg.71f3f829396fa0aed63bc7873b5bddc0.jpg

We had a really relaxed journey across Breydon

The yellow post was passed and we started the route up the Bure

As we passed the Acle Bridge Inn, the temptation to stop was resisted and we continued up river

We saw 6 boats heading in the opposite direction during our journey but generally the rivers were very quiet

This was silver cloud who we passed as they headed South between Acle and the Thurne mouth

We went up the Thurne and turned off towards Hunters Yard and noted for the first time Womack Dyke was empty!

Could we get in at Womack?

Of course as we were the only visitor

Apart from a little blue smart car with a couple of occupants watching the world go by

A long but enjoyable trip

We took the dogs for a walk and then made our way up to the King's Arms at Ludham for a quick refreshment

It's a great pub, which is dog friendly and very welcoming with excellent food and if you enjoy music and sport, lots of both available!

We then made our way back to the boat and prepared our evening meal of spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread whilst watching the one show

The heater isn't on, because it's so mild at the moment and no doubt it will change but Julie and I are really impressed how warm and cosy Moonlight Shadow is in winter, whether you have the heating on or not

Tomorrow we have booked a mooring and a table at the New Inn, Horning so will be eating out and it's the first visit under new ownership and...with our pooches with us, as they now allow dogs inside!

👍👏👏

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but for us, it's a huge tick in the box, and we can't wait to see how the evening unfolds

As a bonus, some friends of ours who live in Little Plumstead (near Salhouse broad) and we don't see that often, are meeting us at the New Inn, so tomorrow evening should be a special one

Woke up at 5am due to strong gusting winds and horrendous bow slap, so got up and took the dogs out

It was a bit breezy this morning, so we made our way up the Thurne for a spot of shopping at Latham's

Julie bought a Christmas light display in the shape of a Reindeer!!

No doubt, another thing I will have to wire up when we get home!

We have just stopped for a break at Ranworth and I must admit I was all in a tizzz..

I didn't know where to moor!

Decisions, decisions!

I eventually went for my usual spot down the side!

I have never seen Ranworth completely empty before

I actually miss the liveaboards which alternated between here and Horning
