Do I detect a faint whiff of bovine excrement??😉😉

vanessan
Apart from that vivid blue, it’s looking more and more like a residential property to me................
NorfolkNog
Mmmm, all very interesting. its got Mr H written all over it. He was the one who poured concrete in the gaps behind the moorings at Surlingham Ferry. Done on the cheap. Poppy does have a good point though. The best/most successful pubs don't rely just on holiday trade. Watch this space!

Turnoar
Beau...? Je ne sais quoi. Cordon bleu...gh. Cold and uninviting.... I liked how it looked in years gone by. If the plan is to prove not financially viable then why throw any more money at it? Appreciate some pubs have converted to desirable homes in the past but pubs in such a prominent water side location wouldn’t float my boat. Wonder what the future really holds for such a venue if not a pub, restaurant, camp, caravan or glamping site?
jeffbroadslover
Having had another look at the photo reminds me of the first impressions of the "new look" Ferry Inn at Horning when it first had a change of outside colour scheme a few years ago although that was not as severe as this one. Mouldy
Cruised past again earlier and it doesn’t look any better. The ‘beams’ in the eaves are being painted white and it looks as if Del Boy has run out of blue paint. Perhaps it’s being renamed as The Bluechamp Arms? 1

vanessan
I think the eaves have been like that for a while now, certainly the two tone appearance was like that in July and last month. I was wondering if the owner was trying to make up his mind which colour to finish it!

Oh, Malcolm, you do realise that ‘the pub’ will forever be imprinted in my brain as The Bluechamp Arms..even if they repaint it. Have they run out of blue paint? BuffaloBill
I would be surprised if he had been allowed to paint it that colour in the first place! With planning the way it is now-a-days, maybe he was stopped.

JennyMorgan
I note that the wooden framed windows have been changed for budget UPVC. I wonder what the planners think of that?

Broads01
It is the most hideous looking pub I've seen anywhere in the country. I know nothing about planning regulations so a question - would planning permission be needed to change the building colour and the windows?
floydraser
Anyone know a painter who can abseil? Or one prepared to saw 12 inches off one leg of his ladder? 1

JennyMorgan
If the area is designated as being a conservation area then changing windows from wood to plastic is not generally permitted. 2
