annv
Hi Just been informed my Tesla delivery has been put back to September (the original date was October) not happy they needn't have said that it would be this month why not wait until they have received it before they tell me it's ready for delivery. Paul
Order British! I ordered my new Range Rover last August and was advised it would be 11 months due to some of the options, long wheel base, four seat config, leather colours, champagne cooler etc being non standard options - it had to go to SVO (Special Vehicle Ops). Imagine my shock when they contacted me on the last day of March to say the build was complete barring the rear seat fridge and I could have it before Easter and return it to the dealer for the fridge later. I was very impressed.

Malanka
I met an Aston collector in the lounge at San Diego airport once, he had 12 of them, I asked what is it you do for a living “oh I buy and sell aeroplanes for airlines” he said. I only smirked a little bit when we entered the plane as I was lead to my seat and he turned right into business class. OK I smirked a lot…. Malanka
Best part he told me was he got invited to watch the filming of Casino Royale where they flipped multiple ( and it was a lot of real ones) Aston Martins where Bond Chase after Vesper. I would have loved that bit

Malanka
I smirked because as we were chatting it became clear my first class ticket ( always bought 5 months in advance), actually cost significantly less than his business class one. That happens a lot if you know what you’re doing.

BroadAmbition
And the pain continues I had to put a few Ltrs diesel in my courtesy van yesterday. My local fuel station is now selling diesel at £1:97 per Ltr - Shocking. That means when I next fill up my GriffTile van it will be over the £2:00 mark and my recent £150:00 personal best will be broken Griff
grendel
I was shocked to find the difference in price between Yorkshire and Kent, used my 20 litres bought here in kent to top up and get me home, then filled at £1.89 per litre when I got back to Kent, 600.7 miles, 55 litres used, that said I did pass a garage here that had both petrol and diesel at 199.9 per litre. I have also noticed that the 5 litre bottles of cooking oil is now £9 (which is twice what it was a couple of years back.)
Bikertov
I drove past a Shell petrol station in Harrow (NW London suburbs) this morning - and it was displaying £2.05 a litre And that was nowhere near central London I vividly remember when petrol hit £2.04 per GALLON back in the day, when it was priced per gallon and not litre. So now it is 4.5 times more than that. The world has gone mad ...
ChrisB
The first petrol I bought was 5/3. Or £0-5sh-3d. I can't remember how to write it! Around the same time I bought my first pint. Benskins Bitter 1/10 in The Cock at Sarratt. So petrol around £0.27. A pint of bitter about £0.09. And yes you could go out on a pound.

Sorry FTM, you’re a bit out on the dates here. The last Transit left the Southampton plant in 2013. If it was a short or medium wheelbase, it could have been a UK build.
annv
Hi Cris going on those prices that would make petrol £2=70 Lt today as a comparison to beer at £4-50 pint.

Mouldy
Bl**dy weather! Had to send the wheels from my car away for refurbishment last week due to the lacquer flaking from where they’d been diamond cut. Fortunately, my neighbour’s son has just put new wheels on his VW Golf, so he lent me his original alloys to stand my car on whilst they were away. I spent a couple of days washing and waxing my car ready for this weeks MoT test, fitted the newly refurbed wheels on Friday and left the car looking shiny and smart, before heading to the boat for the weekend. We returned home yesterday afternoon to discover that it had rained sand over the weekend, presumably during the thunderstorm on Saturday night and my pristine car looked terrible. Why oh why did I buy a black car and allow the wife to have a black car, too? A couple of hours this morning has rendered mine looking presentable again and I’ll deal with the wife’s tomorrow. Deep joy! 🤨
