Timbo
A great shock indeed, and Iain will be very sadly missed by many. A man of uncommon sense, wit and charm. A great loss to the forum, to the Broads and especially to his loved ones.

Wildfuzz
Words do an injustice in explaining how much we will miss Iain. He will remain very alive in our memories and admiration. I never had the pleasure to meet him in person, but through this forum I am proud to say he was my friend.

JawsOrca
Here's a picture of Iain, like me he's very camera shy so not many pictures about. Taken from his facebook. We did have the pleasure of meeting him last year and he was so full of life and had an amazing character... Such a lost..
Vaughan
11 hours ago, diesel falcon said: Scotland to the broads................may his soul be ever at home, Well done for posting that music. As a matter of interest it also used to be the regimental slow march of the Royal Hong Kong Police Force, who had their own pipe band. It was requested by Chris Patten to be played on the day he departed the island as its last British Governor. Hearing it here now has finally brought to my eye the tear that I have been holding back since yesterday. Beautiful music and a most appropriate choice, thank you.

Regulo
Just got back to the forum after the Christmas break. Terrible news, and the reports inferred he was on the mend. Never met the man, but like so many on here respected and loved him for his down to earth approach, and unfailing good humour. He is missed now and will be for the foreseeable future.

SteveO
A great shock and a sad loss. Like many, I never met him, but felt I knew him well. A real gentleman and a voice of common sense. Sincere condolences to Iain's family. Rest in Peace, pesky Mod. Steve
Mirage
I only met Iain once, when we set up a crossing at the famous yellow post! That was many years ago now and typically he got the timing coming from the south absolutely spot on. We have communicated many times since, but I regret I never got the chance to shake his hand... RIP Iain ......
Chelsea14Ian
I like the idea of naming a boat after Iain.Perhaps our friends from the hire companies can give it some thought My idea is to make a Iain emoji. That way he will always be with us.
